    Cheap labour

    Not good local school kids are for ever doing this in the woods my girlfriend manages. One year a ranger chased a kid who had a chainsaw with a chain so slack he could of had a serious accident, or they set fires at the base just Eco vandalism on a small scale

It happened so quick and twelve years ago, I never really where jackets normaly but I had it on as a bit of extra protection from the blackthorn, I was clearing the thorns around a sycamore ready to fell out of the hedge line it had grown up round the fence, so the tip of the bar hit and the saw kicked back my left hand was in proper position on handle I guess cause I was close to where I was cutting ie my arms were slightly bent there was less distance for the saw to cover so my wrist did not engage the chain break. The saw hit the side of my helmet glancing off and hitting my shoulder and cut out pretty instantly as it hit the kevlar. Like I said though it happened so quickly. I remember reading an article from hse that a chainsaw kick back can hit your shoulder and be through your shoulder and beyond in less than a second and after that incident I belive them
  9. No but was saved by a cut proof jacket when I hit some old fencing in a hedge and the saw kicked back and hit me across my shoulder scared the c#$p out of me

    saws stolen

    Is that Adam from Staunton country park ? How is Toby doing ?
  14. Over the weekend had three saws stolen out of works van they were chained up in the back no Windows so couldn't of been seen. So if anyone in the southampton area is offered a ms 200 t back handle with rights of way south written on it give us a heads up. Also stolen at same time was a ms280, ms 195c, long reach hedge cutter dewalt drill plus recipracating saw auger bits socket set and chisels. On the up side they left the flask lol

  16. Seen worse in my sixteen years in the business lol
  17. Seen a mate use a .22 ruger shoot a branch off an ash tree only took ninety rounds lol
  18. Don't know but had some this year and it put my fire out had to get some ash on quick
  19. It is used in oak barns ad it meets fire regs cause it does not burn so a chippy mate told me

  22. lol that's what they said who am I to argue with the tax man they did not even want me to do a tax return cause it was under but I keep doing them as I don't want to end up with a huge tax bill I can't afford lol

Yes just that, work for local council so pay ain't great but it is regular, and then just small jobs odd limbs and hedge work at weekends trouble is once I have paid my insurance and waste licence the odd job here and there just is not worth it but at least I am set up for when the axe comes this year
  24. Totally, just pay extra ni, one year I went over and they changed my tax code for my main job to pay seventy six pounds of tax I still don't get that I can earn extra for myself and not have to pay extra tax as Long as it is under freshhold , but get stung for any overtime I do
