  1. i have just sold all my fire wood gear a month, after looking in the local paper this weekend i saw 9 adverts for people selling logs, and could think of at least another 5 that wernt advertising. i am just going to split enough to keep the home fire burning and keep a few friends in logs. all old customers that ring up are getting past on to the guy that now owns my processor in return for 1 load = 1pint.
  2. in a country obsessed with saving pennys importing cheap s**t, and people who only care for there own personal gain. this is hardly a supprise, and i can belive that who ever it was selling off cheap batches of ash slept soundly in bed that night safe in the knowledge that they made a few bob. i plant alot of trees and plant makes up 60 percent of my turnover, the land agent i work for has told me that w will not be planting any ash this season, and the thort that i might actually have planted infected trees from a nursery that have might import ash trees is tragic. this country is barmy when will we learn from oz u cant get a bag of crisp through border controll there!
  3. cant remember my password to put a proper add up so just going to put one here. i am selling my tractor and forwarding trailer, and a boughton winch. tractor ford 8210, 9500 hrs, e reg 1988, fully forest gaurded, big brash blade, full forest tyres right round (next to new condition) . trailer botex 10 ton trailer, 560 crane, 2005. winch 24 ton pto power in power out boughton winch. on the phone all day 07828459992
  4. hi, used a mate of mines 560 xp and another fellas 550p the other day to see what they were like very good saws. but why has the 560xp's got a much thicker handle? i have a 357xp and it hasnt got a big chunky handle and 550 doesnt either. felt abit numb in my little girls hands, the 550 was really nice tho:thumbup1: cracking saw. can you get the 560 with thinner handle?
  5. hi i am starting a job next week near cockermouth in cumbria, thinning firewood mainly birch and sycamore with a mix of other hard wood, ideal for hakki pilki 1x37 size of processor, i know this as it was the first thing i thort as i walk through it thinking about putting it through mine. looking for offers at road side you can sort your own haulage or i can arrange it for you.
  6. hodge i am looking at a job near cockermouth tomorrow, nice stuff looking for £46 at road side. give me a bell

  10. i got done over a couple of years ago on a job. was off in the woods came back the pick up door was blowing in the wind and every thing gone. if it hadnt been for mates lending me there gear i wouldnt have been able to work. they want there hands cutting off and there benefit stopped! if they had to work thru the day they would be to tired to go on the rob at night.
  11. now then i am on the look out for a 2nd hand processor, i have done about 70 odd ton with a chainsaw and axe this winter and i dont want to do it again!! sore elbows!! a little japa 300 or 250 pocsh kinda thing is what am after. cheers
  12. i am looking to buy a 2nd hand chipper that i have hired from the owner for jobs over the last 3 years. in fact i have probly used it more than him, its a 2004 timberwolf 190 trailed with 500 hours, been stored out side for as long as i have known it looks abit rough but works fine, had it hired last sunday and it never missed a beat. any ideas on what it might be worth folks?
  13. is the jonsered 2033 top hander any good?
  14. prices are around £2000 for one with its own engine, looks good as you can work the cork screw and the saw at the same time so 2 can work it if needed. was think off getting an eagle and a cheap tractor/loader with forks to hump the dumpy bags about and ease loading the transit, go from handling the wood 5 or 6 times to twice. save the elbows! hopefully get a go on one at aa fair. cheers
  15. i have been looking at a number of processors and ways to develope my fireword production. and i am leaning towards a hakke pilke eagle because its a good abit cheaper, but would like to hear from any one that has one, pros and cons of the machine. i have plugged away the last 2 years with a axe, but i am starting to buy wagon loads in and want to reduce the number of times i have to handle the wood.
  16. hi, i ordered some vented dumpy from bag supplies uk who where at the show. i have been staking dumpy bags 2 high and 2 deep along a fence and covering the tops of the bags with a tarp.
  17. thanks very much, a bit of advice is allways good. being brought up on stihl and husky like to get abit of know how before switching. who are the best dealers? i was talking to the central spares lads at the show, cheers
  18. i am about due a new saw and after walking round the stands at the apf at the weekend looking at prices of husky and stihl got to thinking about trying a jonsered. any one any thorts, saw would replace 357xp.
