  4. 441 for the work you will be doing! The 461 is a far superior saw IMO but think an overkill for what u need!
  5. A self employed subby on £80 a day - £13 for tax plus fuel traveling day £7 a day so that's £60 before you start with your kit, so around £300 a week! U tell me who can pay a mortage/rent/ bring up a family on £300 a week nowadays!!!

  17. I have a similar job coming up? I felled a few conifers and self seeded sycamores a few months ago, and a neighbour came out screaming taking pictures saying there all tpo! Which they weren't! And I'm off back to fell two large sycamores in a couple of weeks!! Let the fun commence!!!

  21. I've been doing tree work along time here in the uk and overseas!! I'm good at my job and take pride in my work!! I've just never done hedge laying before bit I'm not about to attack a hedge if I think I'm gonna make a mess of it! I will prob seek someone who has done it to help me, so I can also learn!!

  24. That's what I thought, and explained to the customer that is never done hedge laying before, and he just turned around and said well you practice on the hawthorn!! Lol
  25. Hi all, I've got some work to price, few trees out etc but there is also a hawthorn hedge that they want laying, I've never done any hedge laying before, so I wondered if anyone had any advice?
