I've tried using the hook on my felling lever, I think the correct term is sh*te!

I've got a couple of the woodchucks that RobD used to sell, great bit of kit but I don't think he can get them anymore as the US company has stopped making them. Have a look at the woodland mills site they sell them as accessories for the mills, I think they're around the £85 mark

Whichever mill I go for it does mean that sometime in the next few weeks my woodlands HM130 with trailer will be up for sale.

That model doesn't seem to have the trailer option which is a must for me. Not keen on spending out £15k for a new machine in the current climate but needs must and the work is there.

It's the woodlands 130 I've got, had it for 3.5yrs, it's been OK but now finding it limiting on width and length. The engine option on the 130max is still only 14hp despite having a bigger width capacity, I'm finding the engine struggles sometimes on the 130 with a 22" cut so adding another 8" to the cut without beafing up the engine could be an issue.

I was having difficulties finding the full spec for the smaller B751PRO but now I think it'll have to be the B1001, might have to do a bit more coppering up before placing order that or sell the current woodlands mill.

The general idea is to take them out before they go through the saw otherwise you'll have a knackered blade!

The best way to work out what to charge is see what sawmills & wood yards in your area are charging per cu/ft for similar timber then work out the cu/ft of your stuff and away you go.

I'm seriously thinking of getting another bandsaw mill. The woodlands I've got is nearly four years old and although still going strong I find the engine does struggle sometimes. What are your thoughts on the Logosol machines any preference. Do I go for the new Woodlands model HM130 MAX or a Logosol B751 PRO

Timber dogs. They were used a lot on imported timber arriving by ship to stop or slow down cracking during the long journey. Not used much in this country on logs. Some joiners used something similar when gluing up boards. You can make your own out of 3mm flat bar.

My mother passed away this time last year and I made the casket for her ashes, I used London Plane. I'd made the casket for my father's ashes 17yrs before so it only seemed fair I should make my mother's as well.
