  1. I was out lamping with a keeper about 6 months ago and shot 28 foxes in 1 field. All of them had either stiches, dressings, eyes, ears or limbs missing. 8 of them had (a well known animal charity) tags around their necks. They were sat in groups just looking around. Was a shame to shoot them all to begin with but when we saw all the problems with them we realised we did the best thing.
  2. We did 2,560 metres of clearance today. Was good fun until i hit a pile of badger poo.
  3. BCS Flails are good for dealing with brambles. How high are they? As you may need to flatten them before flailing.
  4. Black Label Society. I like their music. This is one of the many tributes to one of the greatest guitarists of all time Darrel "Dimebag" Lance Abbott. 5. A few offerings from today. 1-5 - growing on dead Ivy 6-8 - Growing on dead Elder 9-17 - Growing under large oak and smaller Hornbeams, Elms and Goldgauge
  6. Had a local farmer do that to one of his oaks. He cut the butresses off as much as possible and then just ripped the roots out with a big swing bucket just so he could get the posts in the exact same spots. The tree is still standing but when we had the wind and rain you could hear it sucking clearly.
  7. Todays level. It was below the banks at 10 this morning !!
  8. My cousin is driving around his local roads. So far he is upto 28 trees cleared up. Mostly little elms but just cleared a 2 ft diametre willow limb off a phone line. Got nothing subtantial down in blandford just loads of deadwood.
  9. I went for a wander around a piece of woodland which adjoins the trailway. There is a footpath that passes the side of the wood but the locals have created desire line paths which criss-cross the wood. There are some fine trees in there. Pretty much every single large Beech has Kretz. There are some stunning natural pollards hidden in the depths.
  10. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFdOZdEJ958&feature=autoplay&list=HL1335557650&playnext=1]Ian Carey & Rosette feat. Timbaland & Brasco - Amnesia (Official UK Video) - YouTube[/ame] Timbalands music has that certain vibe. Not a fan of R n B but the stuff he produces is different to everyone else.
  11. Got a council 56 plate L200 coming up for auction in july/august time. 57780 miles on the clock. on its 4th clutch.
  12. Wouldnt be long until Kretz will get in there and cause even more problems.
  13. Timbrel or cut and glyphosate the stumps if they are high enough to be cut again
  14. A friend of mine who will be out with us on the 26th May. Has a 6.2 Chevy Deisel V8 ha ha. Despite it being a deisel it has a very nice grumble
  15. The last two pics the water was only about a foot deep. The pictures with the square post and rail fence in the dip it was about 4 ft deep.
  16. Rods are out and ready to go. Will be out this weekend in the wallows and on the newly created lake:thumbup:
  17. In the last 24 hours we've had about 4 inches of rain fall. My local river hasn't burst its banks for nearly 4 years. It had come close but not to the level it was at today.
  18. Found a couple on our travels today. A standard rotten crown snap and a very very wee hazard beam fracture.
  19. The new stretch of trailway. It used to be a tree covered baren floored stretch of land. Now we have it scratched out as best as possible and we have a few trees to fel on this stretch and even more on the next stretch.
  20. Todays offerings 1-2 - Armillaria sp? 3-5 - Agrocybe sp?
