  1. It would have done if dad hadn't had a chat with the garage owner. We have been going to him since he started his business up so he has made us a special price of £150/day. But we supply the parts. He normally charges £40/hour but as its such a massive job he thinks he can be more leanient. The BMW is in for its MOT on Friday as well ha ha.
  2. Nope got two people on the job. A 4x4 specialist and the apprentice.
  3. Well its at the workshop just waiting to be stripped. Will be 3 days of stripping then 2 working weeks (10 days) to put it back together and replace and fix what needs doing.
  4. Been done twice for being drunk in charge of a bike:blushing: Don't want a third strike
  5. I shall hop over the hill. Not too far for me to cycle just got a big hill in the way.
  6. Thats about 20 mins from me. Not far from the famous Badger brewery.
  7. Shall take my lil folding saw and cut a section off the smaller branches and will bring it home for further analysis with pictures.
  8. Anyone seen canker in young Oaks before? I have two which have it and are suffering in a mixed native plantation which is about 15 years old.
  9. The chassis is £1700 so far but with the added bits and labour it is going to be about £4000. The landy in its current state we have been told would be worth just over scrap value but dad is paying for it not me as its his truck. So if he wants to spend the money he will but onces in done its done for years.
  10. Terrafirma m8. 2 inch lift kit. The bushes are only 6 months old but you may be right as its all new and will take the strain a bit more may go for it.
  11. Here is the list of things we are having replaced whilst the truck is in bits: - Full set of shocks and springs as current shocks are misting - New hub seals, wheel bearings, and cv joints on the front - Diffs drained, stripped and cleaned and topped up with fresh oil - New front and rear props and UJ's - New door bottoms all round - Full service including draining and replinishing power steering and brake lines - New rear bumperettes - New track rod ends
  12. Cheers Jon. Still waiting for a phonecall from the garage to say the chassis will be with them on a certain day.
  13. Yup. But like i said it has rotted from the inside out so it would have looked and sounded OK on the last bout of patching. Nope but been driving around through pig muck and through dairys with copious amounts of cow slop. We wash it the day after but obviously some of it gets inside and it slowly rusts. Its done well though most land rover chassis dont last much more than 12 years. But ours is 16.
  14. Sadly not m8. Camera had a flat battery and the spare was at home charging:001_rolleyes:. Phone wouldn't have got a clear enough picture either. The road in downpours becomes a river as the roads leading to that junction slope that way and the drains are either blocked or let water in one drain and let it out 3 drains down.
  15. Had a few torrential downpours which turned the road we were working at the bottom of into a river. The drains couldnt take the water which was flowing into peoples garages. So used our noggins and managed to lift a manhole cover just enough for the water to swirl into. Got many cups of tea and loads of cake for the help:thumbup:. Made up for the fact i hit about 20 dog on the footpath. Next spring it is going to sprayed off as i ain't gonna strim that one again.
  16. Because the holes didn't appear until they were hit with a metal working hammer. If we ad noticed the holes before hand we would have had it patched. But where the rust is, is along from the previous patching session. Its rusted from the inside out.
  17. Still foobared ha ha. Waiting for the phonecall to get it up the garage.
  18. 3 inches of rain over night. River is on the rise rapidly but wont quite burst. It may be up and over on Thursday as more heavy rain on the way. Another months worth is possible over the south west in the next 24-48 hours. Can't even go splashing in the 110.
  19. I had a life vest on and got strapped to the truck via a 5 ton strop and a d shackle. I was surprised nobody complained about the fact that we had to repeat the process atleast 3 times to get the crud out of the grates and the fact our H + S wasn't up to standard but we were doing it out of good faith.
  20. A local new build housing estate (less than 5 years old) flooded badly in June/July. The ditches that passed between the back of peoples gardens had been filled with flytip and the grates to stop the pipes blocking up were clogged solid. The EA were swept off their feet so we stepped in and cleared the grates. The DC, Waterboard and EA sent a letter to each household explaining the reason for the severe flooding in the area. Each ditch was approx 2m deep and 4 feet wide and they were overflowing big time. We started at the furthest down stream exit point then made our way back with manure forks dragging the built up rubbish to the top and then loaded it into the trailer. We didn't get any thanks from the residents (except 1) but the EA were very greatful for our assitance.
  21. Skrillex and Damian "Jr Gong" Marley. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGpzGu9Yp6Y&feature=bf_next&list=HL1348177412]Skrillex & Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley - Make It Bun Dem [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - YouTube[/ame]
  22. Todays job. Attempt to bale the remainder of the cut hay with the mini baler. And top the remainder of the site. The topping went well despite the tractor not getting there until nearly 3. Still got 1 and half field to top yet. Will need to get up there before the week is done to get it topped. May get the BCS back and tidy up the bits the flail cant get to.
