  1. Odd...best advice to try some on? I've had issues with other manufacturers changing sizes between runs of trousers/boots before.
  2. I'm a 34" waist, that's a medium in Stretch Air Gladiator II's, with a bit of room to spare!
  3. In honesty PaddyGreenWays needs to man up, if he chose a firm he would like to work for then he should be grateful that they offered him the opportunity to work for them. I'm currently looking at doing 1-2 days purely for experience hopefully with 1 of 3 companies that i know i would benefit working with/for. And no, i'm not that green, i'm just aware that the more jobs i work on (crane removals, big dismantles etc) the better this will stand me in terms of experience. (my current experience is grounding for just a climber) So in short, be grateful you have the opportunity.
  4. Depends on whether it's a contract job or a domestic customer, and depends on the type of hedge, height etc. It can vary from a 6ft conny hedge at £1.20 per linear metre to about 60p per sq metre on taller hedges. Lots of calculations to be done! Good luck!
  5. Within the past 2 months i am aware of 2 semi-mature ash trees having to be removed due to this, drying of clay soil (the whole estate is built on clay!) on this particular house resulting in the foundations dropping. Fortunately after a 3-4 year battle the insurance company have paid out. We did a pruning job on another ash to the side of these as the clients weren't entitled to betterment of their situation.
  6. I use the second of those cans, with a both quickfill tops. I can't fault either... Re: upending the can...surely that's the point? So the spouts stop pouring when it's full? Get them, and don't look back!
  7. I'm not one to gripe about customer service, but they really are nigh on useless. Try as the chaps at FR Jones may, they could not get a straight answer out of them. I ordered a 372XPG with Jones's, they placed it on order with Husqvarna, i called Jones's and they said it was coming, then on the day it was due to be delivered (and the day before i needed it!) Jones's called AGAIN, and they were told they'd be scheduled for delivery for the week commencing 15th of November. Just what i needed to hear. So after 11 hours 18 minutes driving, and 503 miles (a drive from Sheffield, to London, and back, then on to Preston) i have a saw - not the one i even ordered!! All for the sake of people being unable to be honest and give straight answers. Husqvarna customer service leaves alot to be desired! Though the chaps at Jones's came through again, couldn't have asked for better service! A complete contrast!
  8. Thanks to the epically useless people at Husqvarna i am now in possession of a standard 372XP (thanks to the incredibly useful chaps at F R Jones!) rather than the XPG! It's a belting saw, cheers for all the help guys! We'll see how i feel come a cold wet Winter!
  9. I've just got a 372XP currently running it on a 24" bar for firewooding, it honestly doesn't struggle at all, the power for the weight is great, and it's not too thirsty either. Belting saw!
  10. Slightly remiss of me there to not think that there'd be an off switch:confused1: for them. Long weekend... Cheers guys, i'll be on the phone to the good people at Jonesie's place tomorrow morning! 372XPG running a 20" bar.
  11. That's a reply! Short and simple. I'm more or less sold on the 372, it's nicely balanced and a saw i would buy, i offered the 576 purely as an option. Though the comment on getting a 372XPG makes me wonder about the benefits in Winter, and possible drawbacks in Summer? It'll be my only saw for now...
  12. It'll seem like i'm constantly questioning, but i have alot of questions of late! Following the success and feedback from my previous post i'll ask a couple more questions... I've been looking at Jonesies site and the prices are good with either saw, i'll be running a 20" either way. The 372XP is 6.1kg, 5.3hp and will take up to a 28" bar. (£595) The 576XP is 6.6kg, 5.7hp and again, will take up to a 28" bar. (£661) My questions are these, has anyone used both/either saw? Is an X-Torq engine worth the extra cash? Will there be an X-Torq version of the 372 imminent? For using a saw all day is the extra weight worth any benefits the 576 holds? The use will be firewooding/ felling and use for a groundsaw as a sub contractor. Cheers guys.
  13. Cheers guys, i'm going for a husky. Thanks for all the feedback!
  14. THey are the same weight (at 6.6kg i think) but i found the 460 not as well balanced as the 441 and a bit 'reachy' I'm essentially still between the two, and the conversation on this is inconveniently split between the two! Who's had any issues with either of these saws? And how hard do you find maintenance? My primary use for the saw will be thinning work, so i'll also open this up to people's opinions on alternative saws for use all day with thinning.
  15. That's alot, mine was in the region of £600 including assessment.
  16. Cheers guys, had a do at the MS391 and a MS441, 391 is a nice well balanced saw, obviously not the same size etc but nice nonetheless. 441 was nice, if i got either saw i would run it on something in the region of an 18" bar. I've used a 460 before and it was probably just a shade to heavy to use all day, nice saw (and bombproof) nonetheless. Interesting to read experiences, i'd heard the Husky was a good saw. I'll have to pay a visit to Jonesie with a full wallet!
  17. Any recommendations or preference?!
  18. Live in South West Sheffield. Where's the site located? Have actually been looking at doing CSCS card...
  19. No CSCS card but could get one if time allows. What's the project? Have CS30/31, all PPE etc. Chris
  20. Looking to dump chip or buy? Drop me a pm if it's the former! If not i can put you in touch with a few people in that area who supply chip!
  21. Though they've been slated i use Stihl, a Kombi system (The KM130R's) with the hedge cutter attachment. They're pretty good for all i've been cutting (laurel, hawthorn, privet) No complaints so far, except the vibrations. Then there is always something to complain about. I also have a pair of Jonsered HT21's, they make a nice job of privet hedges.
