  1. Leave the poor buggers alone. I'm in the woods. Happy days
  2. Just to give my opinion on re-foresting the country; I like the idea. I think it would give us scope to re-introduce things properly - cool things, that eat people (especially rambling bobble hats), and build damns across rivers. But it is impractical. Unless we get rid of all these damn people and their cities. But it won't happen. Because no-one wants to live as hunter gatherers and die aged thirty. Apart from me
  3. Ahh. But we changed and buggered about until we liked it more. Changing back is not really that clever. Things have adapted and changed, as has the way people think (Not that I really care). If we get forests back how do the hill men make a living?
  4. Just don't go there to learn how to shoot things...
  5. It's not really that simple. The grain they put down will feed hundreds of other things too. The game cover they plant will shelter 1000's of songbirds and insects. By controlling the predators they will increase the population of Lapwings, sedge warblers and Windchats because their breeding grounds will not be covered as heavily by things that eat them. If its heather moorland Black grouse, Capercaillie, hen harriers, buzzards, eagles etc. will all benefit from a managed and "sheltered" environment. Not spent much time in the hills have you?
  6. Hullo All, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good sprayer? Looking at picking up an Escort Van and wanting to get it sprayed (And Enamel Stickered, but thats sorted). Not wanting to spend loads but want a decent job doing Cheers
  7. I fixed your spelling there mate
  8. Jonesies. I use the 7s. A hortic I know suffered from RSI for around 15 years before he moved onto the rotators, I thought it was a gimmick but he hasn't suffered since
  9. God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools.
  10. It must be nice to live in a world where every just does what they are trained to do To me work is a way of doing things I enjoy. I enjoy work, but not as much as fun. If I can make money I will - because money = fun I can't afford to pass up opportunities because I might upset someone. I would rather keep the world happy, but it isn't always practical.
  11. At least they sub it out rather than the Homelite option
  12. Couldn't tell you what price AWJ or offering for that stuff - 01931 712 644 is the number I have for them
  13. Jenkies? It might be a bit far, but thats a fair load of timber.
  14. Cheers Mate, really helpful reply I'm looking at a Y reg one at the moment. A mate has it and has done a lot of work on it (He's a mechanic) but before that it was RAC. Its got about 100k on the clock, but they are "good" miles, all motorway and long runs. He's only selling it because he needs a bigger van. He reckons he does 600 miles on a tank (1.8D) and it cost £60 to fill the tank (?). Going to take it for a drive this next week and then price up a paint job (Its bright RAC Orange at the moment, I might leave it for the "Hi-vis" look though). Cheers,
  15. Weaver curved leather pruning saw scabbard with secateur pouch | F R Jones and Son Or Marvin leather hand shear pouch w/belt clip | F R Jones and Son
  16. Silky Sugoi 420mm for those "bigger" pruning jobs. And a Super Accel 21 Folder for little things. And a bow saw for the bigger bigger jobs
  17. Its tempting. A landline is a good idea However I'm not a fan of an exact address, too easy for people to come looking at what you've got But town will go on now
  18. Sorry, forgot to add. Yes with operator.
  19. Hi guys, What sort of price would you expect to pay to hire a Transit Flatbed based moop? Cheers, Sam
