  1. .Can rest me hat on that bracket! She was a beaut to climb but a challenge to get down without wrecking the lower branches. Every main scaffold up top was hollow looked like storm damage... Was a bit 1p 2pound watching my regrowth anchor point bending about
  2. . Errmmm finished?! This is what we have ended up with... A errr..Monolith... Heavy reduction... Habitat... type thing!
  3. If it was for training purposes in a controlled manor then great stuff! Invaluable piece of experience..
  4. Didn't see anyone mentioned anything negative about them being french. All tree work comments..
  5. I will sling the turfing iron on the truck tomorrow. Try and twists some arms .... It will fit!! Just...
  6. Skyhuck.... I would bloody love too haha after all it is nearly christmas break.
  7. Ahhhh i know .. haha pure Lazyness... Only that top right hand side needs rigging off Cos its over a roof on the other side of the hedge. But i suppose i can cut and chuck if i haaave too
  8. It'll be a bugger if u have to cut it down in small bits! They cut nice, but can be really heavy to handle.. Wait for the crane
  9. Drop/ rigg the limbs! Never tried snatching on a Beech with that many Gano brackets round the bottom and I dare try I don't have smooth rigging groundies on the deck at the moment so it's either tied off or..... Well not
  10. ..... What he would have looked like if the butt whipped up into his face at 3:55
  11. Finally get to do this, it's been looming around with the LA and client for a while deciding what to do with it! But any way.... Here it is
  12. Lovely stuff! Cheers Beezy. Know I've got to work out how much of the root system is affected! I'll get me trowel haha
  13. Found a good looking and sized fruiting body within 1-2 ft of a scots pine this morning, and for the life if me cant remember what type of fungi it is.. And its not on the fungi id app and don't have any access to my reading material! Sooo if anyone has the time to share share some information they know on it, i would be greatfull! Thanks in advance
  14. ...what's a growth point? A sprig of epicormic on the stem? Or a branch you hope to be a 3rd diameter of the branch you cut off?
  15. I recon its a mixture of all of the above... It did have a lean but just enough to get it going by itself. You are right tho... the gob should have been bigger! Not enough to get momentum to snap the hinge... As small as it was lol
  16. Dismantled a little silver birch this morning and this happened when i was sending the top out! ... Have done hundreds with a gob and hinge this size and never had this happen. The hinge actually looks thicker than it is because the back of the "chair" broke off when i chucked it down! Thoughts?
  17. When you've had ear defenders knocked off spear cutting poplars You know what wet gloves on the dash with the heater on smells like You've had a patch of tree sap on the back of your head from carrying logs. Plus bald patch from cutting it out
  18. No before picture or very many pictures giving much info really, but... Here is an Oak i worked on the other week, had about a 3rd of the crown detach itself (which was carnage on the deck) and revealed the hollow stem. The proposed work was to remove it... But my boss proposed this instead It was done in one hit... Had f.hepatica fruiting in old wounds and on a few Lower branches (cool ) and i think l.sulphureous because of the mycelial sheets between the brown rot cubes (correct if wrong because we only touched the subject at college) what do you think of its chances of survival? Will the leaves pop out next year and become a "veteran" or ....well die?
  19. Pretty chuffed with this so thought i'd share... On another note this is the aftermath of a pigeon flying through my window and into my car at 40mph
  20. My Grandad is critically ill and hasn't got too long left so I need to travel up north so I can see him. My boss has been very understanding and has let me go, the question is... Is this out of my holiday days left over?? Unpaid leave?? Or count as compassionate leave?? Been reading on the direct gov site about it and can't seem to place where this falls. Thoughts?
