  10. it would be nice to be able to apply the perfect arboricultural stratergie and managment to tree surgery day in day out... say if for every reduction we did that person was up for investing in managing that tree, the diary would be full for a the next 3 years
  11. I have been doing some reading on seed germination recently, and wondered whether or not horse chesnut seeds "conkers", along with a bit of warmth and water, need light? I read in some seeds, germination is triggered after pigments detect light... cheers for any help, Gareth
  12. virginia water, berkshire

  14. so the perfect age structure would be defined by the age of the species were it is at its optimum for habitat?
  15. i couldnt help you there i am affraid.. for i do not know what an SSSI area is :001_rolleyes:Hamadryad is your man! although would you care to enlighten? im pretty keen on learning anything arb related. cheers, Gareth!
  16. Cheers Taupotreeman! ...although come the next year or two i probably will be faffing around up there with a hedge trimmer
  17. Yea, i agree ..as you probably well know, its difficult to try and educate about future management and the potential hazards arising from that sort of work.. especially when they just want it done regardless. phasing in a new boundary takes too long... and replacment in there eys would have ruined there property development. oh well... sawdust in the pants... money in the bank
  18. i've been meaning to put a dust pan and brush in the van for jobs like those
  19. ....after 20 mins Steve the groundie realised there was knowhere to blow the bits under lol
  20. was a fun job!! tarps were a nightmare tho..and we had to roll the crane in over the boards. we only had 20 odd so it was alot of shifting around for re-positioning and getting in and out the driveway!
  21. Boundary Hedge reduction with a crane!.. Client spent over £100,000 on re-landscaping the front of the property and then decided to get the tree's worked on! heard it all to many times before... Set-up Start missing photos Last tree in the row... ....End.
