  2. No i cant see anything on the pic I was talking about the young fungi on the damaged part of the root.
  3. Cheers tony I went to look at some of the other Quercus in pontlands park and found this cheeky bit of G resinaceum at the base.
  4. Ganoderma applanatum on the faliure point adspersum on the limbs on the ground . I know its not the correct second name but had to type quick as im off out.
  5. Stereum spp kretz/ustilina deusta the fungi in the grass maybe morchella spp and the last one no idea .
  6. I went back to have a look at the same tree and found some Ganoderma pushing its way out from the big limbs on the ground cant wait to see them fully out. Then climbed to the failure point and found some large brackets their also .

  9. As shown on the diagram I see lots of new arbs try and wrap the rope around their hands even their waste even after you have told them many times not to do so.We have all been their and have got the friction burns lol .

  12. Always finding failed Fagus around my wood seems to be kretz/ustulina all around on deadwood and live wood .
  13. Hi tony is the effect on the stem of the Aesculus spp reaction wood wound wood ribs where the tree is dealing with torsion from unidirectional winds .
  14. Nice pic on the Laetiporus I found some on a Taxus near me.
  15. few more of the Ganoderma bracket .I guess the colour is just down to other stuff growing on the tree which has coated the top layer of the bracket at the same time . When i looked on google images i could see how many forms and colours this and any fungi can take .
  16. I know the middle 2 I thought the top one was Inonotus radiatus or Phellinus SPP but could see as i got closer that was wrong. On the last one I thought it was Ganoderma but could not get my head around the light colour .
  17. Ok wild guess as i dont know the daedalea but is it Daedalea quercina (oak maze gill) and the other one on the beech pic is that and this is a long shot Pseudotrametes gibbosa
  18. I found one of them perched on a gano bracket

Need to go back for more dont think iI have seen anywhere near enough of this place .Also need to go on my own so I can get some ariel shots of the fungi and get into some of the ditches where some of the failed trees lay .There was a fair bit of fungi i will add to your fungi thread later seems to take a while on my computer to upload pics but it gets there in the end .
  20. I am so happy today only found burnham beeches from listening to tony croft and david humphries talk about it and add pics to there threads its well worth a visit .If you have kids then they will love it I wish i could see it through their eyes must be like honey I shrunk the kids lol.
  21. One piece of kit i think is good that i would add to even the most basic kit is a tag line .

Great thread I think this is what is needed in the industry there is a lot of very hard workers in the tree game but i think we all suffer a little from being a little lazy when it comes to education I am talking about my self also here:blushing: .The way i see it is arbtalk gives us the chance to give our brains a workout and for people like tony c and david h and other people on here we get this for nothing .Big thankyou to steve for making it all happen
  23. I will have to find out bit new to this:blushing: .The compressor i used was ok for the job but this was only around a trench .
