  1. As Rob points out, there are two ways to make your site get attention. 1: Pay for it to be a featured listed - Expensive. 2: Have a site that is likely to be found when people search for something relevant to its content. Linking to recognised sites of suitable affiliation is a good way. Once your name or product is out there & people are searching you in your own right, you will climb back up the rankings. Simply put word association or cool by association.
  2. I could, but a little mystery is better:001_tt2:
  3. Quite right, you buy one bit of kit to make life easier, then all of a sudden you need loads of other stuff! All stuff that needs to be put somewhere safe, transported, insured, maintained, filled with fuel, etc etc, We didn't produce & consequently sell as much before we got bigger, & granted we were knackered every day, but knackered from swinging an axe is a damned sight more satisfying than pushing levers & having a noisey briggs & scrappem whining in your ear all day!
  4. You've sold one bag & are giving us advice, thank you for that fascinating insight into our cultural differences:thumbup:
  5. Now that'd be telling:001_tt2:
  6. In my previous incarnation all the time, in this one, just the once last month for country file & again next month for some kiddies show.
  7. Final Cut, it's a great application.
  8. A&J Scotts of wooperton are the people to speak to. A & J Scott Ltd - Homegrown timber at its best!
  9. iPhoto is free & works very well for simple tasks. Just duplicate the image first by selecting desired image, & then press the apple key & d, that will duplicate your image. Do your work on the pic, if you don't like it when done, select said image, go to the toolbar at the top, click on photos & click revert to original. Simple as. Photoshop & the other normal suspects all good to, but for simple quick, resizing, colour enhancements, red eye, contrast, straightening etc, iPhoto takes some beating.
  10. Yep, that's what they're known as round here, but we're on the border so I guess that makes sense.
  11. Jamie, I have a project on the go that may require services such as yours, I'll be in touch. We're planning a house build, & had wanted to use some our own Larch as we have very little other use for it, other selling it. I need to know more about why we may not be able to use it, more info people, bring it on, I'm a sponge for your knowledge:)
  12. TimberCutterDartmoor I may have just wet myself:thumbup1:
  13. LogBaron, it's just not even worth the letters on your keyboard. Send the complaint in as I suggested about your copyright infringement problems, & forget the rest. Look at your business, reputation, & the high regard you're held within this site. 'nough said Very best wishes.
  14. I could, what's your budget? What postcode? We don't normally sell nets, it'd have to be cost effective for us both. Very best wishes.
  15. Landrovers all the way for me. A 2002 td5 110 commercial all suited & booted, & 95 Forestry registered 300td1 Disco with 3" lift, Anaconda tyres & pulls anything anywhere! & a Jag, but I find it's crap in the woods, but much better in the car parks!
  16. In hindsight, I've removed my comment.
  17. Selling logs globally, clearly I am out of touch & can only say good luck to you.
  18. That's very true, but unless we own our own oil stations we have very little choice in that. As far as I'm aware the people in charge of deciding what we pay for diesel aren't exactly popular. Call me old fashioned but I think the more affordable we can make logs the more sustainable the industry will become. Charging that sort of money will put folk off & the declining woodlands in this country will never come back into management & as there'll then be no demand to supply we'll all start using fossil fuels again. Just my opinion, & not meant to be taken as anything other than that. only my ethics, all should be free to do as they please. We have actually managed to lower our price every year we've been trading, & every year our turnover goes up.
  19. Utterly inspired & truly impressed, excellent work.
  20. "I shipped the first 1m3 bag today, sold for the nice sum of £120." Why so expensive? That's an outrageous amount of money for a m3 of logs, how could anyone possibly justify that?
  21. LogBaron, if you've asked t hem to remove it & they have replied poorly. Write again from your business stating who you are, who the pics are of, when, where they were taken, why they were taken, & how they are relevant to your business. Ask them again to remove the pics within 14 days. If still nothing, contact 1 last time, very short mail stating simply & business like that you are taking the matter further & they will here from a governing body soon. Then collect your letters & any other info in an organised easy to understand file, & contact WIPO - World Intellectual Property Organization & take it from there. Don't stress about it
  22. I'm with CServices, my 372xpg is a beast & eats anything! Depends on your timber really, if it's all small stuff then you don't need a big monster, if you get all big stuff then you do. Best halfway saw I'd reckon would be a 365 special, really nice saw & perfect for logging firewood.
  23. Hi LogBaron, Simply put, the person who took the original image, own the copyright & therefore the license control of the pictures in question. If you took the pics, your laughing, if you paid a photographer to take the pics, what was the agreement? That will do for now, answer that & then you'll know what you can do. I can say, don't worry about, image theft is rife & normally speaking carried about by people who have no idea they're doing anything wrong. PM If you like, Cheers,
