  1. Is this what's known as umbrella payment? I've heard Lads talking about being paid this way but know nothing of it.
  2. You are working for companies that are CIS and not getting deductions?
  3. CIS is for everyone if the employing company are part of the scheme, you take the job knowing you'll be stopped 20% or you don't get a start. My understanding is, subbies were being paid but not paying their tax so HMRC started chasing main contractors for subbies cotrabutions.
  4. Mick means CIS, 20% at source. No getting around it.
  5. Glad we agree.
  6. Covid is done with, well, I'm sure you know what I mean. The money is gone. Keeping going on about it isn't going to change things. How it gets fixed is what needs talking about. They've dicked us.
  7. Am I miles out, or are the Conservatives in so much of a muddle that it's leading them to feck up the country as to make it difficult for Labour to sort it out short term, a bit like Brown/Blair did?
  8. This is where your argument falls down with me, I can earn a coin, I pay my taxes, if I wanted/needed to earn more I could, just like the arb industry, the pump industry is short of staff. I’m not envious of people who earn more than me, they probably work harder, and know more than me. Ya do tend to tar everyone with the same brush.
  9. Are those cleaners paying tax?
  10. Nah, they would get nothing. That aside, it's proof trickle down economics doesn't work.
  11. Yes, but there are many on minimum wage who don't get benefits. A single person with no children would get no benefits which they would have to make up by doing overtime, which means they would pay more tax. The fact still remains, companies are making huge profits and we are paying for it.
  12. People in full time work earning the minimum wage do pay income tax, you are correct that lots, not all of them get benefits. It needs putting an end to, companies making huge profits are paying minimum wage and us tax payers make up the difference.
  13. Why though? I watch people (I'm thinking of a mate and our kid) who work hard to buy crap that they don't need, or use, because they can? It's beyond me.
  14. The wiring between both door controls were linked before the switch?
  15. They've proved it moves by connecting the battery direct to the motor to close the window.
  16. Does it work if you short the switch/wires on the passenger side?
  17. On a lighter note, Frankie Boyle nailed it, "you're not in the middle of a recession, you're in the middle of a robbery".
  18. Trig, when you talk sense I listen to ya, when you talk nonsense I refuse to reply to you. Correct me If I'm wrong, I've never heard Mark say he pays no tax, I've heard him many times say he pays little tax and to achieve that he uses a good accountant. As you said, its avoidance, not evasion. The fact indeed does stand, we are being taxed more by a government Mark wouldn't vote for.
  19. The fuel pump won't be far out, I used to work for a company who sold out to Klause Union, a German pump company who supplied forecourt pumps, they are regularly checked for weights and measures.
  20. I do love it. Rishi and Boris have raised tax more in two years than Brown and Blair managed in 10. Yes, it is avoidance, perfectly legal.
  21. I love the tax dodger jibe every time. Everyone, everyone who is self employed pays an accountant to save them money, we wouldn't employ them else. If Mark is invoicing his work and keeping his paperwork in order he will get a tax bill according to his accounts, which will have been sorted out by his accountant. If he does his own accounts ya can scrap the above.
  22. I inherited a few apple trees at my last place, the ones we wanted to keep were wrapped individually in newspaper and stored in the shed, they last months. The ones we didn’t want went to a local lady who kept horses. The rotten ones went on the compost heap.
  23. I didn’t say who the restrictions are affecting, I said there are restrictions in Scotland, fact. And there are also talks about domestic restrictions to come. I’ve a feeling you jump on my post about lack of water in the canals without knowing what you were talking about.
