  1. Trust gave me a quote over the phone. I think they advertise on here. Still waiting for my broker to get back to me.
  2. Good point
  3. Page 5 on the pdf
  4. The side d's and gold rings are EN358 for restraint i.e attaching to a pole or to prevent a swing. The bridge and central attachment points are EN813. Attachment points for work positioning or 'sit' harnesses. The attachment point on the chest harness is EN363 and the only one suitable for fall arrest. I think Petzl just missed a trick by not getting the gold rings rated to EN813. C69AF0_SEQUOIASRT_C695010C_web.pdf
  5. Could be the price for the whole course - 4 persons. So divided by four those prices seem very reasonable.
  6. If you fancy a week in South Wales I have a place available on a course starting 21 March. Dont know anyone in your neck of the woods unfortunately.
  7. Try A-plan 01793 613138 £700 for my 09 caddy maxi. Similar cover and no claims to yourself.
  8. No worries Steve. I've been swotting up a bit myself lately. If the pulley is attached to the tree with a dead eye or whoopie the anchor point would take only twice the suspended load.
  9. The pulley will be taking twice the load. E.g 100kg load = 200kg at pulley. The anchor point will be taking twice the load of the pulley . 400kg
  10. Used the oregon bio degradable oil last winter (or maybe the one before). No problems with the saws but deposits around filler caps and container caps turned sticky and gooey. Changed over to the husky stuff and no such problems.

  14. I'd agree that your best option is to work with a climber who has done his/her fair share and ask questions. If possible have them around on the ground for your first couple of jobs. Its also useful to have a qualified slinger/signaller supplied by the crane company or contracted by yourself if you know of someone in particular. They will be able to offer advice on rigging sections and limitations. Ask for the weight of each section after it has been lowered. This will help you in estimating weights of sections before you cut. Always work with a high safety margin. Try and use the same driver(s) and slinger whenever possible and build a good working relationship. Hope this helps.
  15. Depends where you are living and/or working. If your in Wales get in contact with Focus on Forestry First.
