  2. cheers mate, my cousin took that, i was seriously pleased with it since i have virtually no pics of me at work as i usually am the only one bothered to take them
  3. did an awesome job today, felled a fair size turkey oak, felled a massive pine, and reduced another oak, happy days, i luv tree work:001_smile: by the way there might be the odd random pic in here
  4. i love this post, tickets are a load of rubbish and dont mean anything, when i done all my tickets there were some dangerous people qualifying. To be good you have to be a grafter and willing to let some one with experience teach you. To sum up, when i first started my old man told me to go and get the tickets, and once id done that he would teach me how to do it properly. Ive learnt far more being out on site with people who know what there are doing than i did from a red tape, cover my back, never had any real experience, scared of anything that doesnt tick all the boxes instructor on a weeks course.
  5. certainly are mate:001_smile:
  6. yeah i agree but because it is national trust property with a cafe and tea garden below they got abit twitchy about it, and their forestry advisor told them to take them lower. Just a case of not wanting to get sued if a bit falls out and kills someone, red tape, beaurocracy, health and safety, etc, etc...
  7. cheers mate, we have been going 14 years, but the family has been in forestry/treework for 3 generations
  8. That picker in the last pic is mounted on a volvo, but we have got a new beavertail Daf for the tracked mewp.
  9. spent the day re-pollarding some 5 big limes that we do every 3 years, 27 meter mewp wouldn't reach the top, happy days! I love tree work:001_smile
  10. my haix protector light boots were completely ruined in 8-9 months, soles fell off, leather split, laces going, however i do give them serious stick and they are extremely comfy so i have ordered a new pair. Better the devil you know!
  11. got a stein on order, can't wait to see how it fares as i hate petzl so have always been stuck with husky
  12. yeah its a good servant, we have three of these and they get some seriously hard use, but they soldier on. In fact we have just ordered a new one and the body is currently being fitted somewhere in bristol, can't wait for shiny new truck, happy days!

  17. to find out who has got cut 1t, so we can try to buy it

  19. I believe that God is real because I have a relationship with him through His son Jesus. However, this is very hard to understand if you do not believe it in the first place. You ask for proof for creation by God, it is all around us. When I look at Creation it shows me that there must be a grand designer. This is of course a basic argument and if u seek more in depth apologetics such as the fine tuning argument then I recomend that you read John Lennox book (Gods Undertaker-has science buried God) Furthermore i would like to ask your opinion on the fossil below. Obviously, This fossil could not have been formed according to the current view of fossil formation as there is no chance that it could have "naturally died, sunk to the sea bead, rotted, and then slowly been fossilized-and had its prey in its mouth all along" I believe this fossil was formed when both fish were suddenly buried in a sediment grave of enormous dimensions, then they were cemented into that grave by immense pressure of rising sea water. To me this fossil is evidence of the Genesis flood. i believe that this fossil is proof for the Genesis flood and therefore the validity of the Bible.
  20. i respect your position However, as a geologist i would value your opinion on the quote below "I fully agree with your comments on the lack of direct illustration of evolutionary transitions in my book. If I knew of any, fossil or living, I would certainly have included them. . .I will lay it on the line, There is not one such fossil for which one might make a watertight argument." -- Dr. Colin Patterson, senior paleontologist at the British Museum of Natural History
  21. Sounds heavy mate, maybe throw the Bible in for something a bit lighter:thumbup1:
  22. I would side with Dawkins over any religious fanatic anyday! He is a legend. What does a scientist studying atomic energy have to do with evolutionary biology. (Edit: And how much has he been paid by the templeton foundation to say that?) As far as I'm concerned evolution is fact but people are well within their rights to think what like. Should be an interesting debate/arguement haha
  23. within the confines of modern science (the scientific method) you can't prove 100% that any material thing exists, For me the evidence that points to God's existence is all around me, every time i climb a tree, take my dogs for a walk, remember all the laws of physics, contemplate the extreme fine tuning of the physical universe, or simply experience the human emotions of love, compassion, and friendship . However God is took big to scientifically prove, i mean do you thing God is so small that we can get Him in a laboratory and understand his workings like we do those of a cell. However i am encouraged when i rea quotes like the one below. All my studies in science have confirmed my faith" Sir Ghillean Prance (Fellow of the Royal Society and probably Britian's most prominent botanist and ecologist)
  24. Please don't get me started on this guy, I have thoroughly researched his work, beliefs, and ideology and have come to the conclusion that he is a dogmatic man and a poor excuse for a scientist. He uses rhetoric instead of fact and evidence to convince people that evolution is true, and because of his position within the scientific community, people take what he says as red. Im not alone in this, thousands of scientists dislike what he is doing including some of the most brainy blokes of our generation (see below). “Scientists who go about teaching that evolution is a fact of life are great conmen and the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever. In explaining evolution, we do not have one iota of fact.” *(Dr. T.N. Tahmisian of the Atomic Energy Commission)
