  1. That's great thanks. So then, might that bulge be down to a decay cavity?
  2. These are on an Ash near to where we work (apologies that a couple are the wrong way round). I've been trying to identify it using the directory/books etc but I don't know what it is I would be really interested to know what it is and whether the shape of the base is a result. Cheers
  3. The first harness I had was a Willans. It was comfortable enough to just climb and sit in ,but for me personally, no good for work. I now have an Austria Duo 2 for work which suits me better. To echo previous points, is definitely worth trying a few if possible as I imagine us girls are as 'diverse' in shape as you fellas. I think that the girl at Honey Bros (sorry I don't know her name) said she has a Treemotion. Good luck!
  4. Thanks. I liked this one too even though it does suggest that I was working at a somewhat leisurely pace that day!
  5. These are from the past couple of weeks. Slow worm, Red-tailed Bumble Bee & Cockchafer (I think).
  6. Thank you Monkey-D, its acrylics on canvas with texture paste and a gloss varnish and the one on the right is applanatums (because I couldn't resist the 'Artists Fungus' connection )
  7. Himself does a bit of fishing and I do a bit of painting (although I'm a bit rusty still)
  8. Sorry to hear that mate. Will keep an eye out.
  9. Thanks for the responses. Not sure exactly how new the garage is but I believe it to only be within the last couple of years. I would hope that the trees were taken into consideration by the builders when laying the foundations but honestly, I don't know. I am inclined to agree with you regarding the age of the tree and its alleged guilt. My customer is the Landlord via a letting agent and there is definitely an element of keeping good feeling with the neighbour and cost. I have suggested contacting a local surveyor to get a more thorough report on that particular tree/building. Looking at previous posts/reading a couple of articles I understand reductions need to be on the hard side when subsidence is a concern (?).
  10. I must admit I do like the idea of a very visual deterrent on a vehicle like a wheel clamp and we do put one on the chipper. However, given the amount of faffing around we've been doing today with insurance/finance companies etc, I am leaning more towards the hatchett method.
  11. That looks interesting, thanks. Definitely something to look into if I get her back in one piece.
  12. Definitely thumbs up for Dead Mans Shoes. Just seen Machete, similar vein to your Kill Bills and Planet Terror if you fancy a Sunday afternoon no-brainer-gun-fest. Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll too.
  13. Not sure how I could word that without causing offence!
  14. Thats good advice Riggerbear, thank you.
  15. I was originally asked to quote for removing the Ash which sits behind the Pear to the rear of the garden, which I have done. I understand that the neighbour has been in touch recently with the local council with concerns over subsidence on his new garage (seen to the left of the picture) and the Pear which was reduced 18 months ago (not by us) . My customer is the Landlord who doesn't really want to spend out £400 every couple of years for a reduction (this was the charge last time) but is open to suggestions. There aren't many trees in the nearby gardens and I wondered if there was any merit in trying to get the Pear back to the point where it appears to have been kept before ie: a metre or so above the fence over a few visits, or to go for remove and replace, in which case, bearing in mind the location and the fact that the Ash is also to go, can/should this be done in one hit? I hope this isn't too rambling. Any advice/thoughts would be gratefully received. Cheers - Sal.
  16. Police have been and gone. I wasn't surprised to hear that were no fingerprints found, although it would appear that another Landy was done in Aylesbury within the last couple of days in the same way. Could be coincidence but heads up to any other Landy owners nearby. I hate to think of the truck being stripped down jammydodger but you could well be right. Sorry to hear you've had stuff nicked too WoodED. It's crossed my mind that I'll get a call before too long to say they've found the rest of our gear. Thank goodness for insurance. Right well, it may have stuffed my Sunday but it can't govern the week.Got a full week on which can't be bad and somehow I've gotta fit everything into the 90 (?!)
  17. Cheers guys . They certainly knew what they were doing, disabled the alarm/immobilizer, and took out the quarter light. Am gutted, had new engine & gearbox, new shoes, the works. Will work out of something less shiny next time I think. Got forensics coming out this afternoon, it's CSI Wycombe.
  18. Landrover tipper reg: BT51 DTV with a KMR body stolen last night/early morning from Lacey Green Buckinghamshire. Have written and re-written this post deleting various expletives so am now keeping it short and to the point. Please keep an eye out if in the area I really love my truck and it was a bugger to get just how I wanted it.
  19. Thanks for the info Janey, I can stop flapping now.
  20. Never having been to a seminar at Kew before, do we need to bring anything in the way of proof of ID or book in at a certain place within the Jodrell building etc? Cheers.
  21. We've booked a couple of places too.
  22. Thank you that's brilliant. I will have a ring round in the morning and see what the score is. Cheers - Sal
  23. For her birthday my mum would like to go clay pigeon shooting. She has a condition similar to MS and has never shot before , I've not shot since I was 15 (and that was only target) and my dad hasn't picked up a firearm since his National Service in Malaysia. In short, do any of you know/have experience of mixed ability clay pigeon lessons for beginners in the South East. I have a couple of organizations/clubs to ring round but if anyone could recommend anywhere that'd be grand. Cheers.
  24. Had a phone call today to say that something book-shaped has arrived on the doorstep. Am looking forward to picking it up over the weekend. Nice one, thanks
  25. And I'm really happy you liked my effort (forgot my manners there). Made my day. I'm looking forward to seeing what's out there next year now
