  14. Try and get away with basic equipment mate don't finance fancy stuff you don't need and only buy gear when you can afford it then when there is no work in you don't have to panic about paying too many bills. Good luck mate
  15. Canny pricy like! A little bit shinyer than my pulley block
  16. How are them?
  17. I was shocked with it mate the lads I worked with thought a 440 was for puffs and they even started using them. They used to do big tree work with a big new holland with a spikey grab thing on forgot what they called:blushing:And just fill a huge grain trailer with a lad either side cutting the brash flat out then dropping lengths on top, 441s didn't last 2 minutes.I don't mean to offend anyone who likes them or owns them obviously in the right job and being maintained they are ok but they just don't seem to take serious hammer.
  18. I know I'm against the 441 but I love stihl I just don't like that saw I've worked all over as free lance and I've seen loads of the 441s broken in peoples lock ups I've worked around people who don't look after gear and hammer the saws flat out everyday and the 372 seems to take it along with the 440 but not the 441 IMO if your thinning all day and could use something smaller I think the 357s go well and the stihl 026 does really for it's size
  19. Where do you get yours 385 mate am gonna get one soon?
  20. What's the difference between the 395 and the 390 Pete? I used to work for a bloke who was 63 and had been cutting since he was at school and he reckons that 395 was the best saw he'd ever used! They had stihl and husky saws
  21. As little tree said above, working your way up the ranks will make you better at your job too mate, too many people get a job telling people how to do a job when they can't do it themselves. I've worked with a couple who have started from the bottom and worked their way up and they get a lot more respect from the workers. Good luck mate hope it works out for you:thumbup:
