  1. Hi all, As I've retired from the business my splitter is up for sale on Arbtrader, here's the link:
  2. As I've now stopped doing firewood my Manitou is for sale, here in Arbtrader: Manitou Telehandler ArbTrader Arborists Classifieds
  3. We have used an LDV Maxus for the last 4 years, works well. You can get 3 cube bags in it and because it's ULW is only about 1700kg it's not overloaded! Easy enough to drag the loaded bags about by the handles to get nearer to the doors, although it has a side load door as well so that helps. BTW it will soon be for sale as we are finishing with logs!
  4. I've got one of these for sale: Has cut about 10 tonne, 13hp, electric start, £500! Selling due to packing up doing logs.
  5. I've got one of these that will be sold: [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/ROTENBACH-Firewood-Circular-Petrol/dp/B008DFZUNG]ROTENBACH Firewood Circular Saw Petrol Engine 13hp TCT 64 Teeth Blade 700 mm New: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/5181c1pDf4L.@@AMEPARAM@@5181c1pDf4L[/ame]
  6. A career change means I can no ;onger service my firewood business so am looking to sell some surplus stock. I have about 20 x 1m3 bags of mixed hardwood/softwood logs, they are good sellers, nice and dry, stored under cover ready to sell to burn! I can load onto a lorry etc. To be collected from Wisbech, North Cambs. Please PM me for a price, the more you can take the better that price will be!
  7. Maybe because you hit the hardened end of maul with hardened sledge? We had it drilled into us at school woodwork lessons not to hit two hammers together for this very reason!
  8. Didn't realise it was top secret
  9. Years ago the company at Hawkhurst in Kent (sorry can't remember the name) used to buy birch in 3m lengths for turning. They would run it through a striping machine that took three strips of bark off, then stack and it would dry out perfectly without rot. Same applies with firewood, split it and keep it vented and it dries well
  10. Sounds like you've got him rattled! TBH, I just plough my own furrow and ignore the 'opposition'
  11. ... and then Tigers came along and had you all for breakfast:001_tongue::biggrin:
  12. Crikey.. up to 100 logs per hour, whatever next
  13. The bags in my link didn't cost anything like that!
