  3. To all you lads and ladies, who like me have never had a sniff of winning anything...ever, well that was until this wednesday. Had a call from the lovely guys at orange plant who I visited at the APF to say I was the lucky fella who had his name pulled from a hat and that I was now the proud owner of a brand new, never used, shiney MS880 with 3ft bar.....fanny tastic
  4. Does'nt suprise me. We were asked to "fell" a tree next to the M5 in Devon the other week access only by PRoW. Went to have a look and everything was overhanging the Highways fence and if it went wrong the who knows. So we said it would need to be dismantled and would be £350 to which one of the richest racehorse trainers whos tree it was nearly scoffed, oh by the way Highways had told him it was dangerous and had to come down. Went past the following monday to see someone had come in obviously on their onw, semi dismantled it and dropped most of the branches on the fence, and looks like they broke a rail (which if the highways see, will charge them mega money to repair) and left a pile of mess. Oh well.
  5. Ive spent alot of money with husqvarna even in recent times over £1000.00 on wet proofs for the lads. So after having waited over 3 weeks for many items of kit and pestering my dealer who could get no respone from husqvarna I thought I would have a chat at the APF. So after explaining all this to the chap on the husqvarna stand (and admireing his tech 24 boots which I still didnt have) all I was told was there was no problem with the supply chain and it must be something else and then turned his attention to trying to extol the virtues of the new top handle saw which is yet unavaliable to a spotty youth who looked like he may not have a penny to scratch his a£*e with. So after this I called my dealer and asked him to cancel all of my orders with husqvarna and find me some alternatives, Oh and thanks Stuart at HB for having a pair of size 12 aquafells for me which have repalced the much awaited tech 24's from husqvarna. Thanks for listening I feel much better:thumbup:

  11. Hi lads and ladies I'm doing a charity run called the Chara challange in august. It's basically the last stage of a marines training which as some of you guys will know is a 30 mile run across Dartmoor carrying a 30kilo rucksack. The charities I'm running for are the British limbless association, action for children and my kids local pre school. I would like to raise around 6k. I'm no fitness guru, smoke and like my beer, but putting in the training and am of to Wales for some clearance work for the next 3 months so will take advantage of the hills. Just seeing if anyone might want to do a bit of sponsering and I'll post back on how this could be done if anyone is interested. You can see all about the run if you go to www. charachallenge.com Thanks Stewart
  12. Had some good reports on the stretch air trousers, but everything seems to be in grey or black. I want something a bit fancy in a type c. Any suggestions, don't really want hi viz and they have to be hard wearing.
  13. Is that your new iveco 4x4. They look well smart but also well pricey.

  14. As some of you out there will know our local county council are in the process of letting a new framework for tree surgery. Pricing is done by various operations in different size class and categorey of tree. There are 5 categoreys and in each cat there is a range of size classes, so for instance a 18m tree with a diameter at breast height of 0.5m (18 x 0.5 = 9) is a size class 9 which falls into a cat 3 tree. this is not a problem, but it could be any species, so is there a graph that shows various size classes of tree for various species. we've worked out the averages but a check is always handy.
