  1. Cleared this small tricky site the other day. The trees got battered with the recent storms and had to be removed for safety. It was inside dog runs at a dog rescue centre and not the best place to be if like me you like dogs. All the timber had to be stacked over the fence and all the chip got cleared out with the digger after chipping.
  2. Me and my sons nipped out early this morning to removed the Xmas tree in Falkirk High Street. First time for me:biggrin: Dont know why images have flipped. Any one care to fix for me.
  3. Just been let down at last minute so looking for a groundsman or labourer for an immediate start. Any ground tickets or experience would be helpful but not essential. Would need own transport to get to yard and basic PPE would help but this could be supplied if you dont have any. For more information PHONE ME 07803591153 Cheers, Robert.
  4. Looking for another climber to join existing squads for on going contract in Falkirk. Two to three days a week but could lead to more days for right person. Immediate start, must have certs and PPE but everything thing ells will be supplied. This is not the trickiest type off work and could suit some one with only a little experience, but they must be keen to progress and add to their existing skills. Own transport needed to get to yard in Denny. For more information PHONE ME 07863591153 Thanks Robert
  5. Due to ongoing contracts Im looking for a another person, to add to a squad. Preferably freelance and ideally have basic chainsaw and chipper certs. Also aerial rescue would be an advantage, but these are not essential. Immediate start and initially 2 to 3 days a week but could very possibly increase to more days. Working out of yard at Denny, but covering most of Scotland. For further discussion call Robert 07803591153
  6. When I started the thread I thought I wasn't in the wrong. That's why I came on here looking for advice. Is't that what public forums are for? Maybe wriggling out of it wasn't the best phrase to use, but IF the police had got it wrong as they do sometimes then I wanted to know and also hear of other peoples thoughts. WMD muppet Really! Robert
  7. A chipper on wheels. Seriously, maybe it wasn't the best way to explain my confusing, it wasn't what I thought it was called. It is the size of the chipper I was towing and the fact the vehicle was under 3.5tonne that made my mind think the normal rules didn't apply and made it ok to overtake in the third lane under the sircomstances.
  8. Thanks for the lecture mate. Iv hardly thrown the rule book away, maybe just forgot some of the rules through time. Some times I learn to remember the hard way, that's life. Maybe you don't. I don't know you so I wont judge you, like you have me. By the way I have had a clean licence for 32 years, even had an HGV 2 for 26 years, albeit Iv never used it for 25 years. I have ran 5 vehicles in my business for 22 years and this is the first ticket on any vehicle, so Im probably not as irresponsible and ignorant as you obviously think I am. Robert.
  9. Ha Ha, I just realised that I had meant to put roll eyes instead of blushing. Honestly I didnt know:001_rolleyes:
  10. Any body been pulled for this? I got pulled to day on M74 and got a £100 fixed penalty and 3 points. I never once gave it a thought that when towing a sub 750kg chipper if I went in to the third lane I was breaking the law. The story is, I was towing a chipper 740kg behind a transit tipper, going up hill, an artic in inside lane Im behind another artic in middle lane doing about 55mph. Artic in middle lane trying to overtake but not managing. I pull out to pass in the third lane, still under the 60 speed limit. Just as Im passing I clock two of our finest:thumbdown: standing next to their car in the police parking area on the hard shoulder. Never gave a thought about the chipper and about a mile up the road they pulled me. Tried to explain about the over taking and that the motorway continually goes from two to three lanes. I also added that I didnt realise the chipper was classed as a trailer: Whats your thoughts, rules are rules and braking the law, pay the fine, suck it up and move on. Or a load of bollocks, speak to a lawyer and try and wriggle out of it if I can:sneaky2: Cheers, Robert.
  11. A small light weight trailer, but when its full the digger pulls it no problem and it makes a big difference on the job. Also great for towing a chipper off road. Timber trailer, grab rotator and digging buckets put on the back of Isuzu NKR 3.5 tonne tipper. Digger towed behind and still well under train weight. Ive got a couple of days work down in Dumfries with it next week then its up to Inverness for few days, no problem. Makes life a lot easer on jobs.
  12. Not my job. Spruce Pirate done the job and sub contracted me to get the timber to road side. Site was too tight to do with my Valtra and Botex, but ideal for the little mini digger. Videos a bit long but I dont know how to edit it:blushing:
  13. Bit of work sub contracting to Spruce Pirate on hear to do a bit timber extracting for him. 2hr drive to get to work site:001_huh:
  14. Could some one explain how I go about uploading a video link from youtube to allow me to add a video to a post. Cheers,
  15. Ha Ha, he's not that brave.
  16. Noticed at the weekend his tour talk 'Living Dangerously' is coming to Stirling in June. Just ordered tickets for me and my two sons Any one been to his talks? Read his current book COLD AT Xmas and really enjoyed it.
  17. Makita 18v with 4Amp Li-on battery. With the battery fully charged I get a couple of tickles of all the 38 teeth, if Im grinding all day.
  18. Cheers Tom, would appreciate that. Boarders are probably a bit far, hopefully I could get some one nearer. Rob
  19. The clutch has started to slip on the tractor. I dont have a manual so im struggling for info. Dose any one know if you can adjust anything, maybe on the pedal or any where ells to ease the problem, or is it the case of new clutch. Any body done a clutch? any tips on whats involved, costs. Also any info on anyone that would fit one in the central belt Scotland would be appreciated. Cheers, Rob
  20. Also looking for someone to process logs in yard. Probable couple of days per week but hours could be very flexible and the right person could make their own hours to suit them self. Duties mainly processing logs but also at times to help organise yard with timber continually coming in to be processed. No experience required as training will be available, but it would be an advantage if you have any experience working with tractors, loaders, diggers or timber cranes. Would equally suit young person, student, or some one looking for extra work. Pay depending on amount of logs processed and fixed hour rate when doing yard organising. Must have driving licence and be able to get to yard near Denny.
  21. Short notice but needing an extra pair of hands to help out on job next Tuesday and Wednesday in Stirling. Can offer on going work for two to three days per week for right person. Would consider Labourer, groundsman, or climber. More information call. Robert. 07803591153 or email [email protected]
  22. BUMP should have mentioned preferably self employed free lancer.
  23. Looking for reliable experienced climber to join small busy company. Starting with a couple of days a week with possibility for more days, to help out on ongoing contracts. Must have up to date tickets and preferably own PPE but all other equipment will be supplied. Info: call Robert 07803591153 or email [email protected]
