  1. Haha... at first I tried a slow removal with a bit of twisting but as you cazn imagine, it didn't do much good! So I went for the quick pull out which led to a lot of bleeding! It's all sealed over now... just fairly sore and sensitive
  2. First time I watched it I nearly fell off me chair!
  3. Thanks everyone for your replies and good luck wishes! I cannot wait. Yeah easy-lift-guy... I'm hoping my body climatises quickly so I'm ready for their summer but who knows. I know it's gonna be a killer but I like hard work haha. I remember last summer when we had the hottest day in like 10 years or something at 32 degrees here in the UK and I was on the biggest ball ache of a job ever... and it absolutely killed me for work the next day!!
  4. Amazing
  5. Really good know, I appreciate your post. Thanks alot
  6. Sorry to hear about your injury with a thorn haha. Yeah well, this bit of Hawthorn got caught in the chain so it came back to me at quite some speed!! It was through my finger in a millisecond. I dont believe I was doing anything 'wrong'... it got caught in the chain which is not something I have control over and thats the end of that really. Yeaah I could have worn gloves but I don't like too. Sometimes these things happen and like you said, I doubt a glove would have stopped it penetrating anyway. Thanks for the comment
  7. Well, I shall wear gloves next time... Thanks!
  8. I agree mate I agree, but it was a rather hot day and it was a quick job... I didn't expect to have something like this happen but oh well, it happens and I'm not too fussed, its only a small wound! Cant expect to walk out unharmed when working with hawthorn I was using a 200t and it was on its side so my left hand was far over on the front grip
  9. Noo man, I find it harder to work with gloves as silly as it may sound. I don't like the loss of flexability and feel when wearing thick gloves. Plus they just make my hands all sweaty and sticky... just not nice! I wear them now and again, sometimes when it's raining and sometimes when climbing for grip but it's just personal preference isn't it mate
  10. Probably some sort of brown rot fungus or just your usual decay from wounds etc and it's turned like this over a period of years. You can see that it's heartwood decay but it's hard to pin point the exact culprit without any pictures of fungi or anything. Best to wait for Monkey-D or hamadryad to reply
  11. Very true, thanks Rob
  12. Send it to honey brothers in the post bro
  13. Cheers mate. Appreciate it & I'm sure they will! The boss is probably on here! Ha ha
  14. Wicked mate! haha Why was she coming down may I ask?
  15. I just thought I'd post a random thread sharing my exciting news for this August with you all. I'm flying out to Adelaide, AUS on August 11th to take on a full time job offer I recieved from a what sounds and looks like a rather large and friendly company with a good amount of work coming in, based near the Coast of Glenelg as a Climber / Groundie. I really cannot wait, it has been all booked and ready for about 3 weeks now but the days are going so slow at the minute and I just want to get on that plane!! Ha Ha. I'm currently going with a 12 month Working Holiday Visa which should do me well and then hopefully if I really enjoy it over there which I'm sure I will, I'll be looking for sponsorship from them to stay over there! If they still want me that is Working during their summer at what sometimes hits 40 degrees will be the biggest killer I think I'll ever experience. I think this is one hell of an opportunity for me as I'm still young with no big commitments and hopefully this is the start of the rest of my life...! Anyway, yeah... I just thought I'd share that with you all. If you want something... go get it Thanks
  16. It didn't half bleed!! Ha ha
  17. Not at all! I admit ive done one handed use, but on this occasion no Maybe I should check when I had my last Tetanus jab!
  18. This gave me a bit of a fright as the saw pulled it towards me and shot it through my finger
  19. I can see why it's called the skeleton forest!
  20. Absolutely terrifying! It says in the description she was filming them as they were both aside eachother blocking both lanes causing a big line of traffic behind
  21. Oh & I just found that Oak Polypore species Buglossoporus pulvinus is a brown rotting fungus?
  22. They're really quite spread out. Correct me if I'm wrong because I know nothing about this fungus but this doesn't do much damage to our Oaks as its Sapro right?
