  1. Might be looking to sell my greenmech Cs100 if your interested. Just waiting to see how much i'll get for a trade in first. 14hp which i've had no bother with and it chips more than i ever thought it would, especially with the letter box opening. Bought it last year to start up, was ex demo really clean and spare set of blades. Has maybe a few more scratches but looks the same as when it arrived. Jim
  2. All right Nev, trucks looking spot on mate but have to say it's no landy. Hope the launch goes well and i'll hopefully get there to see for myself. By the way them cheeks are looking chubby compared to last time I saw you, you best get up them trees sharpish. Jim
  3. Finally got the land pig back up and running today. Replaced the clutch slave cylinder and that sorted the job right out but hat a sod to bleed. While I was on I thought I'd get round to all the jobs that i'd been putting off so I fitted a new wheel bearing, adjusted the handbrake, replaced both sets of door hinges and gave it a good grease up. Hopefully that'll see it right for a while but knowing my luck lately I doubt it.
  4. It wouldn't be so bad if it was bad maintenance on my part but i paid a lot of money to get a reliable warranted engine transplant on a two week turn around so no disturbance to the business. Instead 3months later i got a pig of an engine with more wrong than right and a warranty that wasn't worth the paper it was written on. Avoid like the plague "National engine centre" Cardiff. That's me Chris and i'm sure we'd have a few funny stories to share about a certain Mr Back?
  5. It's E reg, don't know the mileage as it's got a disco 300tdi in, solid chassis bar one patch on the body outrigger even the cross members original. Now has terrafirma big shocks and springs on and could do with a roof rack.
  6. Thought i'd put a pic up of the old lass, hope i've done it right. Needs finishing but it does the job for me for now.
  7. yeah your right it's just a bad state when all you earnings go into repairing something that's meant to make you money but i suppose that's the life of the self employed. Your right about good parts tho Chris, Pete Miller sorted me right out on that front, a top man.
  8. Had a run of bad luck lately on the old landy. First the cam belt went and everything had to come out bar the block. Next up the battery boiled and had to be replaced to find that the alternator was goosed and that needed changing. I thought that was it and i'd be fine for a while but low and be hold I left site today and either the master or slave clutch cylinder has gone. When do you say enough is enough or do you think there can't be much more to replace? Jim
  9. As far as i'm aware they went bust that's why we couldn't get parts for the saw bench. Jim
  10. Was told recently that a load of euc was planted for biomass power stations and it has all done really bad so there's going to be a big demand for another source of wood. So can't be that good a crop.
  11. Really good info on the hitch climber. I'm about to renew all my climbing kit and thinking of going for a hitch climber set up as opposed to the old prussik. Am I best off buying one of the kits offered by Landmark or tree climber or buying stuff individually?
  12. I had a similar problem once with my 200tdi. I was driving along and it just died as if it had run out of fuel, it turned over but nothing. Turned out the wire going to the fuel injection pump had perished so was a quick fix with a new connector and started up straight away. If it wasn't this i read in a few places that it could have been the fuel solenoid like others have said here.
  13. Thanks for your help. I think the drive spring fused to the spur gear sounds about right as all the clutch parts seem fine and if i don't engage the lugs with the oil it turns freely half a turn until it becomes in contact with the oiler drive. The needle bearing with the plastic casing seems fine, that is if it's the one that centres the clutch drum over the clutch. Anyway i'll have another good look this week, no doubt once i find out what parts i need they wont be available. Cheers Jim
  14. Cheers for everyone's quick replies. Thinking about it, it all sounds about right as the bar and chain i was using is an old 18" bar on my ms341 as my 084 clutch drum has just gone. I think a new bar and chain seems the way to go. Thanks again.
  15. Hi all, second post of the night hoping for a bit of help with putting the clutch drum back on my saw. I was milling the other day and after seeing the side casing was red hot I decided to investigated. The clutch drum was cracked and rubbing causing the heat. Anyway got a new drum put it back on and it just doesn't seem right. There are two oiler lugs on the bottom of the drum that locate into what I think is the oiler drive. The problem is that when it's all in position and i spin the clutch drum it turns the engine over, i thought the drum is meant to be free wheeling not in direct drive so I'm reluctant to get it up and running. Probably being over cautious but any help would be appreciated.
  16. Hi all. Been on this forum a while but never posted. Been milling today and for some reason everything was going fine all morning planking up some larch but when i went back to it after lunch on a new log the mill kept jamming up. It was as if the saw was cutting downwards away from the the set depth causing it to eventually jam and me being unable to even push the saw never mind cut. I tried from the other end of the log and still the same. I checked the depth and both ends were still set to 4" and everything seemed straight. Any suggestions??
