  3. nicely framed David, 1 from a stand at elmia 'lookin at you'
  4. old & new, tried to open the wood box without any luck!, 1 comment from others re the new harvester crane ' it'll brake off and go through the cab' I hope not, just a thought tho will it trap you in the cab if it brakes down? and 1 of the old saws at the show
  5. I think some of the wear parts are reversible the square ones on the main disk the main anvil and this can be sharpened back to a clean edge to a limit, there is also a minimum width to the blade so you may not need every thing in 1 go , as others have said Mark Osborne at A T Osborne A.T Osborne Ltd, Romsey | Forestry Services - Yell best to replace if as worn as getting to the hole though !! good luck there are simple but good chippers
  6. there is a good 191 in the forestry mag this month 54k though only 300 + hours
  7. I've come across red band before Forest Research - Dothistroma (red band) needle blight in Thetford forest a while ago quite a significant thing, could be a combination of both although I think cold blast is my guess for this situation so far
  8. hopefully good for all! both visitors and trade, it looked ok although a bit quieter on Saturday than I expected
  9. yes it looks like that cold wind on exposed side where cut of the road leaves trees exposed ! some hard wood affected as well but most dramatic on the Pine
  10. went past today and trees esp Pine seem scorched other trees affected as well, south of Shap I think area affected quite a long distance, anyone else see it or any Idea's?
  11. this quad trailer looks a bit 'pretty' but I suppose it has a place in extraction, there were quite a few options around some with all the extras you could think of , wood benches of all construction shapes and sizes scattered throughout the site, just to confirm you do need at least 2 days preferably 3 to get round and see things i.e. if you whish to see any of the competitions or discuss specifics or just to get a look at some of the demonstrations, and there is a lot to see, possibly the best coming from Komatsu with rock music, pyrotechnics, choreographed forwarder and processor moves ( not quite up to JCB standards ! ) but impressive ! quite a show , others not far behind
  12. David the spider thing is from here micromagic systems - home grapple with changeable ends not seen before
  13. David hello this one was around a while back timber jack walking harvester - Bing Videos but the one in the picture was from a logistics firm with remote helicopter cameras and other such things, I think show casing their ability to construct different things, the spider thingy was walking around outside the tent as well, not seen this b4 steerable front linkage!
  14. amazing I was up near Huntingdon last w.e and could not believe the Elm there on the side of the road , had to take a second look to make sure it was, mature elm lining the sides of road , very good to see, although I am aware of the nursery man and his clone I had not realised there was Elm left alive quite as good as this, I thought you have to go to Scotland to see it, slight detour of thread my apologies cheers j
  15. Sweden clean and green, mostly,... summer sun hot days, not a lot of arb stuff huge forestry section lots working, as you would expect, loads small forestry equipment and support industry, energy chipping big there also with working demo even in what would be our static area! visitors only a few feet away from large chippers and shredders working
  16. Oh what a show ! did anyone (else) go?
  17. we were a bit surprised when we arrived on site and saw the size of em!, made me remember how good it is milling big sticks with the trekkasaw, was impressed with how the LT40 coped but as with you looking to have capacity to cut wider and deeper:001_smile:
  18. taking the LT40 to the max at the week end! takes some handling that size, 1 cut length longer than the bed, thinking outside the box
  19. I knew I'd got 1 it was just where, found it!
  20. Brushcutter hello I did have a look around the new center and was impressed with the building and architecture although I had a bit of a ? about what held what up? it looked like steel with wood beams bolted to it in places, I liked the overall woody look of the buildings although the lime wash or pale whitey finish was a bit questionable, good looking buildings and a good project for you to be involved in. I whished I'd found the old pub and yard for a depot! Mike was up at Ashridge yesterday with family said it was well visited!
  21. David yes it is, yours sweeet sweet chestnut! a cracker that 1, I think it a good day out esp with family good picnic opportunity although new, last year, visitor center with facilities can provide . words by others describe :- One of the finest Georgian landscape gardens extending over 400 acres, with valleys and vistas, lakes and rivers and more than 30 temples and monuments designed by many of the leading architects of the 18th century. Originally the concept of the first owner Viscount Cobham, the gardens at Stowe were continually extended and enhanced by many famous architects and designers, not least Capability Brown( who I think got married here), who was employed as Head Gardener there from 1741, though Charles Bridgeman had been responsible for the original landscape design.
  22. you can buy them here Truncator - The multiple Log Chainsaw Sawhorse 60 logs 60 seconds
  23. is it an early arboreater ? if so link here About Us if it ha a series of laser cut rectangular flails and a sieve at the back they were good at shredding green waste, looking a bit tired the one above though
