  1. Hello all, hope you are well? I have a SH86 blower that’s not starting. When I got it it wasn’t sucking fuel up with the primer bulb so I’ve stripped the carb, fitted new kit and also fitted a new flange where the primer bulb is. When I ordered the flange I ordered the other option for the carb accidentally, but the only difference seems to be a breather pipe coming off the back. The original has just a hole without the pipe. I fitted it all, it sucks fuel up fine but still won’t start, just splutters every now and then. I’ve now swapped the carb with a known good one and it still does the same. It seems to have a good spark, it’s the same as the running machine. I’ve taken the exhaust off and the piston looks mint. I’ve taken the flywheel off to check the key and that’s fine. I did notice some red sealant around the crank seal. Would a major air leak cause it to not start at all? The seal doesn’t look bad to the eye but I know they still can be. Any ideas?
  2. You’re both stars buddy, thank you very much [emoji4]
  3. By the way, I made this tool out of a half inch socket to tighten the castle bolt back up again.
  4. Hello Gareth Thanks for the info and the number to call. I spoke to one of your chaps the other day, I think it was George?....I can’t remember his name! He was excellent, we discussed what I had done - re-sealing the DCV and then he told me about the seal in the bottom of the pressure release valve and how to change it. I was exactly as he described, castle type bolt was loose and seal was split. Replaced that and it’s all working fine again [emoji106] Thanks for the help, would have taken me ages to work that one out! When you see whoever I spoke to, give them a high five from me.....but from a distance hey [emoji106]
  5. Hello bud What makes you think that? He did have a problem with the forward relay once but that was that the forward wouldn’t work now and then, and if you fiddled with them it would sort it. This problem is like the rollers have lost the torque to pull stuff through, they stops as soon as you offer a limb to them?
  6. Hello all A friend of mine has a TW230 which has just got roller problem. What happens is when you try and put a branch through, as soon as it touches the rollers they stop. The throttle is full on and the belts are tensioned. TW said the other day that it’s the flow control valve so I’ve resealed that and it’s not solved it. Any ideas please?
  7. Thanks for the replies chaps. I’ve managed to do it. After getting the three bolts out the motor side I took the thin green ring out and then the spline bit came out and the roller popped out east after that. The bolts had sheered the other end so I drilled those and helicoil them [emoji106]
  8. Hiya The bolts on the grease nipple side of my tw150 bottom roller have sheared. I’m trying to get the roller out so I can have a go at removing them. The roller doesn’t lift out like I’d read, so I’ve taken the 3 Allen bolts out the other side hoping that parts would slide out and then I have room to remove the roller, but that doesn’t seem to shift. I do t want to be too hard on it yet so was wonder if anyone had some advice? Thank you.
  9. Oh my goodness that’s amazing [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️

  11. That’ll be good to watch!
  12. Drt, zz on one and sj on the other, he doesn’t do srt. I’ll have a dabble with 2 x srt next time.
  13. It was rigging bud, quite a tricky one too ?
  14. Not boring at all bud ? A friend tried it today on a fairly large maple dismantle. It looked a bit of a faff to set up, and at times it looked to get in the way, but it also looked really handy now and then and the more he used it the smoother things looked. I suppose as a dismantle the longer he was up there the less branches there were to get in the way, may have been a different story on a reduction!
  15. One of the chaps at work said it bud. I’d have thought getting to them ASAP would be your main mission, but then some would say you’re no use to them if your one anchor fails?
  16. Is it true that in the case of a rescue you have to enter the tree with this new method?
  17. Has anyone got a link to an unlimited coil for a 390xp please?
  18. Hi spud Sorted the pressure washer [emoji106] Found the plunger you talked about, took it apart, cleaned it and then had another go and the washer made some new noises which sounded good. I then noticed the fan move but then stop and become solid, so I stripped the lance and the pressure nozzle had become blocked too, cleaned that out and hey presto [emoji106]
  19. Hello bud Its an electric one but it also runs on diesel for heat. It’s not been started for a few years so maybe the plunger is stuck! Water is getting to the handle on the lance because it was dripping from there. When you pull the trigger it makes the sound of starting and the lance kicks a little as if there’s pressure, but then nothing. Where roughly would the plunger be?
  20. Hello all At work we have the above pressure washer that’s not worked since I started there. My task is to try and repair it. When I first plugged it all in, water was leaking out the side of the motor and the oil was milky. I’ve taken it apart, replaced the oil and pressure seals and now there’s no leaks but it doesn’t start up. When you’ve plugged it in and then pull the trigger it makes the noise as if it’s going to work but then it’s stops and makes no effort to start again. Can anyone think what to check next? Thanks Ger
  21. Hiya Bob Do you have a link to these please? I’ve found a set that looks the same for that price but they are a different make.
  22. Hiya Jase, I’ve managed to sort the chipper [emoji3]. I ended up stripping the directional valve and the flow control valve and replacing all the o-rings. Works a treat now. Thanks for all your help and pointing me in the right direction
  23. Is there a way of testing it dude?
  24. I think I’ll take your advice onboard and get a used hub carrier from a breakers [emoji106] I’d still like a tap and die set but I’m wondering now if the above could be applied to virtually anything that’s repaired? Say, an ms660 needs a helicoil for the plug, you put one in and then one of your staff is doing a cut where they have to chase it, and just at the critical part the plug blows and they get injured, I suppose the same would apply? Maybe just get a set for cleaning holes and bolts, not making or repairing anything?
  25. Yeah I have dude, which bit do I measure, on top of the thread?
