  1. good topic fella, done the survey. We dont need more legislation, just more informed arbs and TOs and both requiring better funding/value assigned them
  2. personal prefer G. adspersum in this instance, so thats three different idents!
  3. the plan is to get the house set up as eco as poss, as off grid as it is possible to be, and its very possible out there! Then see if i can survive and hopefully thrive doing as little work as possible! But I've a few jobs in pipeline in various places in Europe, nothing solid yet but regarding arboriculture and Bulgaria, put it this way, theres no climbers and any work they do is off MEWPS. So if i wanna climb, theres opportunity!
  4. I wouldn't worry too much about the Bulgarians, they are smarter than most give them credit for, they call Britain Alcatraz, thier here to work, to earn and very few of them are here for the so called "benefits" Ive developed a lot of respect for them, and am looking forward to living in a community of sensible, relaxed, and humorous folks! Alcatraz..... still makes me laugh:lol: and they aint wrong:biggrin: Plan to be over there again soon for 3 weeks to tie the loose ends then a short trip back and make the big move all being well. Found an absolutely amazing place, really cant wait. check out the Honitsa falls, thats going to be in my back yard:001_cool:
  5. I am moving to Bulgaria so it is an essential vehicle, roads aint great, and its very mountainous. Besides, given the global manipulation of the climate/weather under the so called "benevolent" project being run by our military-industrial complex it is way beyond worrying about carbon emissions. They said we was loons going on about it all, with Cameron saying "were only discussing it not actually doing it" then recently DEFRA releases a statement saying its happening but perfectly safe! lmao The secret in life is to just live your life, and let everyone else live theirs their way, nobody can ask or do more than that. I think over the course of my life i will have very adequately offset the minor impacts I have made on the global system. Very soon I will be living almost entirely independent of both the "Citizen-ship" and the "grid" I will as they say be no longer tied in port and under "admiralty laws" Of course theres a few tings I will need to remain "connected" and keep in touch with the global community, for friends, science and learning but my conscience will be clear:biggrin:
  6. 35 posts! its a bit stressed, has some necroses in the canopy, probably had a bout of scale insect to boot. this would lead to early maturation in the bark, nothing unusual at all IMO. a new build like this might also suggest the soil has been "manipulated" that too would cause stress and this kind of scaling early in bark maturations
  7. Well, I got me new wagon and im loving it, never thought I would be a landrover head but its addictive! she is a dodgy colour but thats not going to last long! But my main reason for posting today was the regrowth on this supposed monolith I did 2 seasons or three back. I had very little budding to leave but felt certain if i could work around these buds I could initiate a recovery. I am not kidding you when I say there was less than 20-30 live buds and it didnt look like this at all when done! I will try to dig out the other photos... but suffice to say, once again, on point!
  8. Some times its not just about justification, whoever needs justification for a little learning has missed something along the road! I guess for many it wont seem worthwhile, it is as the title suggests a "specialist" survey method, and maybe thats the whole point, specialists skills? I believe the whole point is that several "specialists" may use the same format and apply thier specialism to the table of data A lichenologist, mycologist, entomologist etc etc etc
  9. already all over it:thumbup1: he is a very busy boy but shall have something worth saying regarding the now long list of folks eager to do this one inside a week:thumbup1:
  10. cool we definitely appear to have the interest to get this one resolved. will post back soon.
  11. [quote name=daltontrees;1029467 The S1' date=' S2 and S3 layers of the cell walls are visible. The second slide shows it in Cross Polarised Light. Sure enough, where there is nothing to rotate the light it looks black. But the cellulose in the cell walls, especially the shallow angled cellulose in S2, is diffracting the light so that it is getting through the second polariser. And if it had been infected with say K. deusta in soft rot mode, you would have been able to see a reduction in cellulose. Which is what I am trying to put across as the great benefits of microscopy with the advantage of Cross Polarised Light and a rotating stage. To be honest I don't see how anyone could get by without one![/quote] nice post that:thumbup1:
  12. Agreed. I will have a word with the maestro himself and see what can be arranged. I can only say 2 Thee and me, guaranteed at the present will all willing to pay a deposit to show commitment say I

  16. no, because damage is not needed for dysfunction, which ,may just be aged wood, as in heartwood
  17. this was proposed by Rayner and boddy many moons ago, the industry is slow to learn! good post though robarb, it does need constant re iterating sadly:thumbup:

  19. I would have four straight off!
  20. on the contrary, it is or will become MORE quiet as anyone with any self respect will gradually drift away from the site, or worse never get involved past a lurker because of such responses.
  21. No I dont know that, this been at this for ages, and is getting away with it, stinks that moderators allow it.
