  1. See, great minds think alike.
  2. Probably to prevent drunken arbs on holiday trying to impress their girlfriends.
  3. Ah, didn't think of that. Maybe catch him by surprise with a couple of bricks instead.
  4. Maybe she should just pop him down the vets. Worked on our tom cat.
  5. I've never said it was. What would be cool is to stop the mindless, repetitious bear-baiting that has been allowed to go on. When somebody's sole interest on a forum is to post offensive statements with the intention to goad other members into a response then that person's membership needs to be seriously considered, if only for the maintenance of a friendly atmosphere on the site.
  6. Some come to debate, some merely to ****-stir.
  7. No ****, Sherlock.
  8. The one about Nadiya's donuts?
  9. Sorry, I meant the main text of the story. I can read the smaller headline about the Manchester bomber escaping surveillance and wondered if it was to do with the information that his family and community had reportedly warned the authorities 5 times about him without any action being taken. Haven't been out for the papers yet.
  10. Looking on my phone so can't read text of picture. Does it refer to the authorities being warned 5 times about the guy and not acting on the information?
  11. I suspect you may be over-thinking the matter, Dan. Ignore them, leave them arguing with themself and ban when it gets silly, if not before. Never argue with an idiot because they will just drag you down to their level where they have the greater experience.
  12. Don't you see that's the whole point of their offensive comments, to provoke an outraged response and fuel an argument where they can chuck insults and be Billy Big Balls while sheltering behind the anonymity of a keyboard?
  13. Thanks. Scrub that idea then.
  14. Speaking as somebody who has no experience in these matters, would pigs damage the trees?
  15. I agree with what you are saying to a point, David, but I think the problem stems from members whose sole purpose is trolling. As long as they remain and people keep responding to their comments, which are designed solely to be inflammatory and offensive, then the problem will continue and people will continue to drift away. It's a shame these cockwombles have nothing better to do than try to damage a great forum but then some people are just that pathetic.
  16. If you are on Facebook, you could try a page called Woodalert.
  17. Voice of experience?
  18. I keep asking SWMBO the same thing. I did a quick legal search and could not find a definition either in statute or case law.
  19. As an aside, if we are prepare to use troops on the streets then should we use them in places that the regular police seem to view as no-go areas such as traveller sites?
  20. My suggestion was more that it was politicians and their ilk rather than racial lines that are indicative of a corrupt personality.
  21. Just to play devil's advocate, we've never had any bent 'home-grown' politicians, have we?
  22. It's a U turn that nicely protects the funds of those with plenty with a cap on charges, as yet without a figure, while still allowing the proposed asset grab from the masses.
