The newer ones are called Francital Cervin, look good to me.
-
I see treekit have some new Francital trousers, maybe worth a punt? Sevsafe sell them too.
-
How did you attach it to the bed?
-
Its been available in the states for years. I dont think it has CE whatever it needs to be sold in the UK.
-
You want to call Devon Tree Services, based in Ipplepen, very good firm.

I have been here for about 9 months now. Although I had lived here before a while ago. Sponsorship is a great option, but it ties you to an employer, and can take a while to get all the required documents etc. A Canadian employer has to prove they cant find a Canadian for the job. IEC to get in, find an employer you like, and then get them to sponsor you once your visa expires is a great way to stay here for a while.
-
Express Entry is not a working holiday program, it's a new system for applying for permanent residency. The IEC is the only working holiday visa, the other alternative is getting "sponsored". Get a job offer from a company, and they will help get a visa for you. Arborist alone I doubt will qualify you for express entry, as I understand, we first need to have 12 months of in Canada work experience. Seems a few are waiting of tenterhooks for the IEC to be released, myself included.

Looks to me like it is for permanent residency, not a working holiday type visa. Still good for those who want to get in and stay quickly, could be a resident within 6 months!

Nice job. I like that a zip line keeps most of the mess in 1 spot too, save on raking. What's the chip truck? Cheers.
-
Nice work. Whats the thinking behind the 550? So you can avoid a change of saw when you are blocking down?
Paddy.

Nice tall tree there Reg. Are your heights based on rope lengths? Or educated guesses? I find with the tall firs, if its amongst other trees it often looks shorter than it is, especially if you cant get far from the base. Haven't had to rig wood all summer.
Cheers.
-
Looks like a good summer Reg! I've thoroughly enjoyed my BC summer. Our trees maybe aren't quite as tall, with the heavy winters in Whistler, but still regularly top 130ft. I should try and make a video next summer.

I would like to see a bib and brace offered by someone tree work related. No drip down your waist then! But to answer the original question. Elasticated waist, a zip at least to just below the knee, some way of getting to trouser pockets, good reinforcement in key areas. As a tall skinny guy, I would like to see them cut in a variety of lengths for all waist sizes.

Cool,What kinda work do you do and what company?Cheers
Its a mix of felling in the woods, on a fire prevention project for Burley boys, and residential stuff for the local firm. Tree work up here shuts down over winter, but they dont stop in any of the major citys.

I dont know anything about applying as a Kiwi i'm afraid. I'm in Whistler currently. Works different to UK and NZ for sure.

I got my Police Certificate though the police website, easy as, it costs I think £45 and takes a couple of weeks. The IEC system is a pain, make sure you are on your computer when it goes live, they usually go in less than half an hour.
Good luck.

Start with a piece of cord 2 mtrs long, you will probably find it needs to be slightly shorter, and keep at least an inch of tail sticking out of your knots.
-
Cheers, yeh that sounds like a tough day for a rope. Fly out 2 weeks tomorrow, although still not sure where we are going to settle. Have spoken to a few outfits, and The Burley Boys seem keen which sounds promising.

Looks nice there. When you are zip lining the logs, are you using the same set up as you use on brush? Or bigger slings and a pulley on the line? And tensioned down to a device on a tree?
Cheers Paddy.

I have just had a set welded up Longer than pole gaffs but shorter than tree gaffs . I call them intermediates Bloody ace they are .
Welded up? Have you just added to an old set? A photo perhaps?
-
Anyone one know where in the UK I can get hold of some new gaffs for my Klein Spikes? Or maybe have a spare set lying around?
Cheers.
-
Another good video Reg. Are you guys wearing radios for communication? I look forward to these tall trees.

Anyone need a hand? Had a day cancelled at short notice. Anywhere in Devon or south Somerset. Climber but happy to do whatever is required.
Cheers Paddy
-
Good luck with that Paddy , reckon with your skills employment will be no problem.
Cheers Steve, still in Devon until I go if you need a hand.
