Best to just PM me here.

Open to anyone that can get a visa to work in Canada. The work is good, mostly conifer removals. Need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Good rates of pay, good equipment, good lads.
-
Bump. Ideally looking for an experienced climber now, but open to anything.
-
Thanks guys, problem solved.

Anyone able to give me the stihl part number for item 6 in this photo please? Small cover on the front of a 201tcm.
Thanls Paddy

Agreed, we are similar in that most wood stays onsite, some of the customers are very perticular about their log sizes, can be a pain at times.

Nicely done again. Liked the prussics on the rigging line. 18s because the customer insisted?

Capacity is a valid point, but if you fit a days work in to your truck usually, then upgrading to the bigger machine it'll still fit if you dont start chipping bigger wood. But you will spend alot less time chipping. Go home earlier, or fit more work into the day.

I found fellhunters great on spurs, I like the hightop, wish other boots were taller. Not great for pruning or ground though, too cumbersome. In Zermatts now, very good on spurs, decent all rounder I think. Both have a good heel, vital for spurs I think.

To add to Regs comments, you wont struggle to find a job if you have a Work Visa in place, especially in Vancouver. Turning that into Residency can be a challenge, but very feasible.

Im not sure if the crank is f'd? How much play is too much? Bearings seem ok.
The rest of the saw is in great condition. Thoughts on Hutzl or similar pot and piston?

Not exactly comparable saws really. 365 is a size smaller Cc wise and old technology, compared with the brand new 462. 365 is still a very capable saw.

Use a separate line paddy, then it’s good to go any time and potentially it’s not as dangerous with debris mid line if your cutting from your traverse point.
True, but already carrying alot, and tend to be in tall conifers so less is more where gear is concerned.
Cinch etc not an option, cant use a foot ascender below, and Im not pissing about with RADS.
Seems the only improvement would be spendy, tazlov, BDB etc. Guess Ill stick with the ropeman for now.

Any new thoughts on progress capture? I currently use a Ropeman 2, I like that its quick to install and small/compact. Disadvantage, cant let out smoothly. Would rather not use a hitch as takes time to tie, and I tend to use the tail of my climbing line, so cant leave it inplace.

Huxleys Little David?
-
Yeh they are big, but more similar to an f150, not built for our kind of work. Not sure on the 5000kg?
-
Nice trucks, not up to daily tree work though. One of ours guys has one. More a sport utility style pickup.

Its possible to locking brummel boths ends, form both eyes before putting the rings in place. Get tenex tec, its a twin carrier so a little more hard wearing than regular tenex.
-
Tenex tech is easier for sure, but picks easily so maybe not ideal for remote retrieval?
