  1. i think the pics are just as bad as the tree work ,ha ha .
  2. problem is ,there is no independant inspection body with the la ,western power contractors undergo on site inspections on everything including standards of work ,if the work does not meet such standards then there are behinds that get kicked !
  3. I know a chap who climbs trees with spikes every time ,what a discrace to the industry imo,it looks so so bad ,and is not good for a tree ,why do folk do such dull things ,worst thing is he is as busy as me some times ,go figure ay ?
  4. Im selling my gsxr 750 ,it has 11 months mot and tax my number is 07967502218 if any one is intersted thanks
  5. You know the mark up ...hence the interest ??? are you for real ? there is not that much to be made in fire wood after all the hard work and expence processing it all
  6. As the heading says ,im after a toyota hilux ,trolled through ebay not much about . would consider other 4x4 pickups ,i dont fancy spending a fortune as its just for a short time i will need one for .
  7. As to the original post ,if you have no quals in the work your doing then insurance is your main issue . People work outside there quals alot of the time ie who has done large fell nptc and who has felled a large tree ? great thread ,some verry good points .
  8. Im sorry but i would have given him a hiax in the face ! i planted lots of trees in the past only to get abused by them !
  9. Buy a viking mower ,there second to none !
  10. yo steve ,spot on mate . could do with a rig like you used to own ,man i got sum work on ,big lumps of timber comin out of my ears ,in a maner of speaking
  11. if you look at the picture of my saw on the stump it only just makes it length wise accross the trunk ,i prefer not to use a smaller bar and cut from each side,if the tree was wider i would have used a smaller bar on my 394 and cut my gob from either side of the tree ,i trim off all the buttreses to make it neat and tidy ,all those wide nobs and bobs make it harder to abtain a accurate gob and back cut ,and it sat level on the trailer ,other wise it would have sat proud at one end .
  12. T he reason i trim off the buttreses is to make it smaller at the base ,if it were all for fire wood i would of felled it heigher ,bit it was destine to be a saw log so needed it to be as long as possible ,i gained atleast 8 '' in diameter
  13. The first section all milled up
  14. rancher ? are you serious ? if your a pro use a pro saw
  15. get a 346 xp ,i have 4 there one awsome saw ! i love mine use it for everything i can !
  16. a bigger hinge is important with a larger tree ,that one might of been a little big but it was spot on ,tree went exactley where it was suppost to ,as for the farmer and his lunge he saved us getting rid of all the chip ,little anoying hovering around all day tho
  17. it sure was a fine op ,all done in a day to
  18. they were in llanedi cemetry ,near where i live , the reason for removal was somthing to do with fisues ,the tree had shed 2 huge limbs and the report was not in favor of keeping the ree
