  1. load of bollox from natural england, it's as if shigo never existed
  2. A friend who is a site gaffer for a drainage company has been asked by natural england to treat 3 stumps on a multi stemmed semi mature beech, "to prevent infection" ( 3 stems cut, 3 remaining ). Am I missing something, I thought this practice went out with the ark?
  3. Dave Evans Bicentennial tree in there? Got a HH too, they rock, literally.
  4. Got the seat, and you're right, like a comfy armchair now! Thanks all for the advice
  5. thought might be a re-post, skills like that don't go un noticed for long
  6. Not bad, reckon i could give him a run for his money with my prussik though
  7. can you remove leg loops and just use seat then?
  8. Thanks for all the replies fellas. I tried it out again today, with the waistbelt a bit higher and tighter, and shifted my weight about, and it was better, but on a long ascent this afternoon was still tight in the vital areas. Once in the crown it's not so bad, and there's is much more freedom of movement over the willans. Thought about the sit attatchment, but might be throwing good money after bad with that, it there much flex in the seat or is it fairly rigid? and can it be used without leg loops entirely?
  9. I bought a Tree austria 3 last Saturday after my old willans t22 failed its last loler inspection. Climbed in it once this week and I am still missing my family jewels. I tried a few different options in the shop before getting the austria, ( petzl sequoia, edelrid tree magic 3), and initially this seemed to be the best fit, however after deadwooding a couple of ivy clad sycamores, i can no longer produce any offspring. Tried leg loops loose and tight, but made no difference, so I am looking for a bit of advice on what harnesses are more suitable for a big lad who would like to keep his testicles on the outside of his body? p.s Does anyone want to buy a tree austria 3, used for one very uncomftable afternoon?
  10. Try using your centre 'D' rather than side d's, works well for me.
  11. I've just completed a Foundation Degree and have done the RFS. The RFS in my opinion was much more relevant to the industry, and beimg exam based rather than coursework, i would say that you retain a lot more knowledge.
  12. Hi guys, first rule of P&D, identify the tree. Went and had a look at it yesterday, and it's a lime. A quick reference to Mr Strouts and Mr Winter and the answer is............lime mite, Eotetranychyus tiliarium. Does not significantly affect the overall health of the tree. I was wondering if a scrub with a mild detergent might help, as the trees owners say it has had this year on year for the last 3-4 years and although i think it is fascinating as it looks like the whole tree has been vacuum packed, they don't agree. Any suggestions would be welcome:001_smile:
  13. Hi, can anyone could help with this. I'm assuming it's some kind of moth, but have never encountered this before. The tree has had this for 3 of 4 years, and seems to recover each year. Was wondering what control could be used. cheers
  14. They are great, Gourdon dry bag is sweet
