  1. also with my bigger predator grinder if you remove the pin on front ram and raise grinding wheel assembly vertically it will turn round really tight corners and I've got that in some really awkward places with a bit of forward planning to save my back!
  2. I've got a Rayco RG13II and a larger 28hp Perdator R26 tracked machine. i find them both to be good machines and wouldn't be without either. The smaller Rayco grinder does frustrate me sometimes on larger stumps but thats because i know how much easer it is with the bigger predator one I've got, which will also fit through the same gate as the Rayco! but if ive only got 1 or 2 smaller stumps will take the rayco to save having to take 2 vehicles. also with the smaller 13hp ones you can lift them on raised beds and up steps etc also i used to have a 13hp Husquvarna one that was totally useless as the clutch keeper overheating! even after replacing the clutch so i would avoid them personally. below is a link to my stump grinding page on my website with a few pics on there..... 3. And here's another pic with us using the disco and tipping trailer for when we can't get all the chip on in 1 load with the transit!
  4. It's around 2500kg empty but like 70% of Arb trucks it will be overweight if you fill it right up!
  5. Hi all. Heres a pic of my latest truck. I've had it sign written just under a year now but haven't got round to posting any pics on here yet. The body was built by Kmr engineering in ipswich and I'm really happy with it:thumbup1:
  6. Thanks for all your replies, i've ended up moving over to arborisk for all my insurances. There were pretty much the same price as trust overall but didn't charge any interest on the monthly payments so that made a saving overall. They could also insure my woodland on the same policy which trust couldn't insure at all, so thats made it even easer for me as everything apart my my van is now under 1 policy.
  7. Ok thanks for your replies, I rang arborisk last week and they seemed keen but they haven't got back to me with a price yet. I also called Tree surgeon insurance and they haven't even returned my call to take details for a quote! Can't believe how hard it is to get quotes!
  8. Who do you guys recommend for insurance? My employer, tool and public liability insurance is up end of this month, I'm currently with trust insurance but want to make sure I'm getting a fair price, as I've added quite a lot of kit over the last few years and my premiums have been creeping up. I'm not after the cheapest price but would rather be with a insurance company that's pays out if ever needed with out to much fuss! I've heard good things about trust but checking what other people's experiences have been like with other companies? Thanks Simon
  9. To be honest it's on its last legs already! It's started smoking and seems to struggle more when grinding at a angle compared to the genuine engine. Also keeps leaking fuel in to the oil which isn't going to do it any good!
  10. I've got 2 x 201t, 1 x 150t and a ms200t...... the 200t doesn't see the light of day no more I've only keeped it as a backup saw just incase. I've had a few issues with the 201ts but nothing major and all done under warranty, mainly clutch springs and breathers leaking etc. saying that I've never had to repair anything on the 200t. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another new 201t and I wouldn't personal want to buy someone's cast off 200t unless I know the history of the saw!

  15. Does anybody know what size the v belts are on a quad chip 160? 1 of the main drive belts has shredded on mine today, managed to run the machine on just 1 belt to finish job. But can't see any number on the the belts and need to get some picked up asap! Cheers Simon
  16. i did try fitting the old pull start but it didn't fit over the silver thing on flywheel so if it does break ill have to do a bit of mix and matching with some of the old flywheel parts to make it fit:thumbup1:
  17. Engine arrived yesterday and managed to fit it today, 1st impressions are good but build quality is def not as good as a genuine 1 but for £200 I can't complain! The air filter housing on the launtop engine was different to the one fitted to my grinder so I fitted the old one from old engine but 1 of the bolts dident line up properly so just left it out as its secure enough without it. The only other thing that's difference is there's no hole in the clutch leaver to attach the remote clutch in my rayco grinder but this isn't a prob as will just drill a small hole to attach it it bothers me. I haven't tested it on any stumps with it yet but got a big grinding job on weekend with my bigger machine so will talk this along aswell and break it in with some holly stumps! Attached are some pic of damage in old engine and new engine fitted. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I've orderd the 16hp one and will update as soon a I've got it all together and tested it:thumbup1:
  19. thanks for replys, just been looking on ebay and they have a 16hp lunatop on there as well as a 13hp one, would the bigger one be a straight forward swap or would it be easer sticking to a 13hp one?
  20. Hi does anyone have any experiences with honda clone engine? I've managed to snap my conrod on my stump grinder engine, its a gx390 engine and its the 2nd time its snapped. 1st time it went about a year ago i rebuild whole engine with a new crank, conrod and piston & rings etc with after market parts for around £200. its snapped again and its scored the crank so im not going to bother repairing it this time and going to just replace the engine but wondered if anyone rates the copy engines? as can get 1 for £200 compared to £500 for a honda one? Regards Simon
