  1. cheers mate will ring you in morning
  2. looking for somewhere to tip chip and logs near rotherham hospital thanks paul
  3. mate of mine had something like that only he mixed some runny dog poo in with it as well had it fixed in his shed to protect his bike
  4. you might have a problem connecting a pump to an ex generator engine as they usually have a tapered crank there was a post on here about a home made processor(by fergusson i think)which looked well made the simplist way is a chainsaw sawbench mounted over a horizontal splitter
  5. one on that auction site at the moment
  6. does your truck have the option of air conditioning if so use an air con pump as a compressor direct of the engine if you go on lr 4x4 forum and search on board air compressor you should find all you need to know i've done this on both my landys and it works well
  7. only look to be 50 nets on those pallets, they do look nicely packed though
  8. i agree tube would be stronger,if the boom was subject to both compression and tension and i would have made it differently, but as it's in tension flat is ok(it's what the original engine crane had on) its a bit like you can pull with a rope but you can't push with it
  9. pics of my crane set up
  10. i'd use cap head bolts to bolt it down as the're 12.9's you don't have much reach with a swing lift so you want to be as close to the side as possible and may have to put a stabilizer leg on this is the reason i've made my own based on an engine hoist design mounted in the middle of the trailer drawbar so it will unload either side will put some pics on later
  11. it's welded to the chassis i was going to make it removable but when i sat it on it just looked right and i decided that was it rams came with the loader and are alot bigger than the dumper rams have thought about moving front axle as far forward as possible which would bring about the same result
  12. was originally going to use a forklift mast but couldn't find one at the right price in good nick picked up the loader very cheap, has the advantage of being able to put a bucket on
  13. will take some this week
  14. we use a 2-3 tonne 4wd dumper thats had the skip removed and a tractor loader with pallet forks fastened on works well enough but it's lifting capacity is only one cubic meter of split logs as any more makes it light at the back end and fitting a ballast weight is difficult as it's hand start plus could overload central pivot
  15. wouldn't put a disco rear axle on as its not rated for the weight also propshaft flanges and spring seats are different
  16. those super splits don't need much input power as they use two heavy flywheels and a rack and pinion instead of a hydraulic ram

    labernum

    labernum

i've got a couple of lengths of labernum and some lilac, seems a waste to cut it up for firewood i'll get some pics if any bodies intrested
  19. timed it today it's 10 sec all way out and back in again stroke is 15"
  20. you need to match the pto speed it should be run at, assuming its 540 rpm a 70cc motor at 38l/m (at 100% efficency)would give you 540 rpm as hydraulics aren't 100% efficent i'd guess at about 75cc you could talk to john at system h engineering he'd probally know www. hydradrive.co.uk
  21. have just put one of my splitters on to gas as the 20hp v twin honda can use 5.75 litres/hour it works out at between 3 or 4 litres /cubic meter depending on type of timber being split might convert the other one if it works out alot cheaper
  22. not timed it since i put a two stage pump on but will next time i use it
  23. if you can find a 150mm bore ram at 200 bar you'll have 35 tonne but i don't think your beam would last long i think it's a bit under size for a 110mm cylinder as it is,i would put some web stiffeners in to stop it twisting here's a few pic's of one of mine with a 110mm cylinder showing web stiffeners the knife slider and foot plate the foot plate is 60mm thick the slide is made up of 25mm plate and m16 hi tensile bolts holding it together
  24. at 200 bar it'll give you 19 tonne
