  1. sounds great....more info please:thumbup: staying with a friend who runs a foraging business so he knows the area very well.....but always interested in what others know about a place.
  2. Going to be staying in Constantine, Cornwall for a few days next week. In Roger Deakins 'Wildwood' he writes about the Old Oak woods running along the Helford River. Just wondered if any of you local lads or indeed anybody else knows much about this area. Wheres best to drive to and then walk through the woods etc.....any help as usual much appreciated. Sean

  11. sounds like it could well be a white rot caused by Ganoderma.? The lignin gets degraded leaving a white spongy cellulose rich material.
  12. when you come into the park this week David check out the base of the Horse Chestnut just before going over the cattle grid into holly lodge....There's a whopper Rigidiporus! Wee slice missing however.

  18. Glad you like David. I dont often use a Tag line although I have done. Prefer taking a little bouncy bouncy ride when the limb finally goes:001_rolleyes: I'm always looking for new ways of fracturing. Have been playing with the X cut lately. 2 diagonal cuts with a ratio of about 70:30......seems to give a nice end to the rip which can then be manipulated further with the saw although quite often this can suffice.
