  5. love the first one:thumbup: I see you've found the 'vivid' setting in my colours on the camera david (pic 3 ).....i like this setting.....its like the old b/w photo's that were then hand tinted.

  8. I've made tentative enquiries with the manager of Pembroke lodge.....he's trying to get an exhibition together about history of park.......hard to talk to......think little britain, league of gentlemen and......i'll stop there i think......suffice to say he's hard work! I've got a few ideas which once I have more idea on direction I will talk with Adam and Simon.....have a good relationship with them so will be easier!
  9. Its in Richmond yes.......i havent looked yet David but on the richmond site they have apparently started putting up old postcards of the park and the last couple of months the guy from Pembroke lodge has had a couple of people re-photographing the scenes depicted in them....(they didnt ask me can you believe it?

  12. I'd go 5 for dismantles.......5 for idents...........and 8 for 15% reductions (having had plenty of practice doing 10% vet oak reductions! 6 for me!!!! maybe 1 less on the dismantles perhaps:001_rolleyes:
  13. thanks mate....liked that meself:blushing:
  14. some photographs from this weekend..... The first lot are taken at the now derelict nurseries which once served all the Royal Parks in London.....Didn't spend as much time as i would have liked but intend to in the future. Species found in a short time include.....rowan, ash, oak, birch, blackthorn, hawthorne, cherry, buddliea, hornbeam, beech. A real Oasis and a good place to study pioneer species and the like as they all fight for survival.....not great with birds but the bird song was incredible too......couple of foxes, rabbits and much more i'm sure. Last few photo's are 3 different stages of the unfurling of horsechestnut leaves.
  15. glad to see you are getting the hang of your new camera david......lovely photo's!!!! You enjoying it?
  16. Whatever happens.....given the points highlighted above I think you should get somebody with more experience than yourself to have a good look at this tree.....in order to work out a management programme for it.
  17. ]Photo's will be good......Does it definately need pollarding? Or can it not just be reduced. If its as old as you make out then pollard should be done in stages for sure....and even that could be risky to the trees health More info on tree, location, health of tree and photo's will definately help

Sorry i got my number wrong in the last message. It's 07914840534.....i'm also a keen photographer.....before/after shots etc.

  19. no accessories for me nope.....but i do tend to use it on fully manual........as a starter though David......for the general tree photo's I would use Aperature priority....which is AV on dial....have this as higher number as possible for max depth of field. If you have any questions.....i'm here.
