  1. We have a site in Rayleigh Essex that we have some clean hardwood chip from that was put to one side for a landscaper but who has now advised does not need them. Does anyone know of somewhere in this area/other contractor that wants chip there is approx 35-45 cubic metres. Don't mind paying if someone wants to load and collect or open to suggestions. Cheers in advance

  5. After reading several threads it would seem the price we are all getting for chip varies greatly. How much do you get and from who? We get £6 per tonne from stowbarts N.London area and we load.
  6. Stowbart Biomass will come and collect, you load the lorry, they pay about £6 per tonne I think minimum quantity about 25t
  7. How did the job go, did you have to move the timber? We all had a few at Capel I think we drank Mason dry on the first day, he was resorting to buying beers on the Sat. Nice to catch up with everyone though.
  8. yes mate
  9. Looks as though there some lucky people especially the park, where in Lee Valley was that one?
  10. He was a very relieved chappie gave the guys some beers which pleased them no end! Said it would be the last time he tried to cut a tree down.
  11. We were called to a site the other day by a very worried householder who had attempted to fell a conifer in his garden. We were greeted with a tree with probably about 20 cuts in the stem, a felling notch at about 10 feet even though the garden was more than big enough for a clear fell and two trapped bars. The guy was on a ladder trying to fell this with the string he was pulling it with about a foot above the face, obviously it kept sitting back on the saw. The photos don't show that behind the fence was a conservatory which the neighbour had removed all their belongings from in anticipation. Fortunately a better placed rope and a good pull saw the tree down where it was intended. Why do these people keep risking their safety and hefty repair bill by tackling trees far too big for their abilities?
  12. we have had this twice once was a chipped fan blade and the other was a slightly distorted main shaft
  13. Free of charge if an order is placed £50 +VAT if not, wish mine only took a couple of mins recently had an application with one of the London Boroughs and it endeded up taking 3.5 man hours what with application, photos, phone conversations etc
  14. Climber/Team leader required for family run company. We are looking to recruit a climber to lead a team on a variety of works including local council contracts, regional parks and a small amount of domestic works. Chainsaw and climbing certs along with driving licence are essential, PPE and uniform will be provided along with a great team to work with. Further information available via pm or email [email protected] Cheers Steve
  15. We have had 2 apprentices from capel and I would agree it is a work in progress. It is a great way to produce an employee to fit your company no matter what size, the fact that they work whilst training helps to ofset the cost incured training a new employee.
  16. Not light blue, more of a metalic navy with tinted back windows. Cheers
  17. You don't need these maps, some people use a clear sketch plan others use a printout off of google earth and draw the outline of the tree on that. Both of which are free
  18. Can you believe, our guys were working in the area the gear was stolen from and the dirty f*****s drove past in our shogun, the boys had all the tools out and the mog was facing the wrong direction so couldn't give chase. The reg on the blue shogun is P810JKR if anyone should happen to see it
  19. We are based north London not far from J25 of the M25 If anyone has any info I am stumping up £2000 for information leading to me getting the grinder back or its safe return.
  20. tell me about it toured all the likely spots pulled all the teams to do the same which costs even more but not a sniff
  21. Hi Guys Just to let everyone know we had a Shogun 5 door in blue on a p reg hooked up to an ifor williams trailer think it is the LT105 model about 2 tonne 10ft x 5ft with a tracked predator R28 (in yellow) on it stolen from a site in hainault today. The vehicle also had a ms 260 in it which is engraved on the handle VEN22 and a sthil blower BG55 with a serial of 165197163 and VEN B1 engraved. The trailer has two jockey wheels as the original winder broke but is still in situ, it has had square steels inserted in the sides to take square pins for the greedy boards to sit against and the floor has several holes in it. We know that it travelled from Hainault through Buckhurst Hill as an item from the car was found about 45 mins after the theft. I will post other serial numbers etc as I dig them out, but any information would be greatly appreciated, 07973 440628 of PM me Cheers in advance for any info Steve
  22. Free hand for me, get a little longer out of the chain
  23. Not the easiest tree to start a reduction on, looks like it will be a nice shape with a bit of re-growth pop back in a year and take a picture if poss, its always nice to see how your early work develops
  24. In the past I have always provided an individual price per tree then offer a total price, the client then sees a massive saving and can often order the works based on the saving rather than the cost
  25. where are you based
