  1. I'm 22 done a national award at otley college been working in the arb trade 2 years now, I have my cs30/31 and all my own PPE and climbing kit and saws. Availble to work asap. Unfortunatly I do not drive but do plan to sort this and do more tickets with a job that is more stable. I would be greatfull for any advice that may help. Much thanks Steve
  2. ill be down with a few people the Friday and the Saturday camping.
  3. well if it sorta goes off in a week or goes crap and stops doing wot its supposed to then i duno if i would wana put in any of my saws.
  4. we got a mog from some one else for cheaper family friend or some thing:thumbup1:, boss seems happy with doing it with that and the customer was happy to pay for the hire of it apparently according to my boss. he has been a good customer in the past and i think he is quite happy to see all the big machinery being used on his estate. i guess some people just have to much money.
  5. there are some that we could but there are already big branches in the moat that have fallen in over time so its a bit late for them. we have managed to get a unimog for the day to pull them out. fingers crossed it wont be alot of bother altho still not looking forward to my swim. Ill try get some pictures of the job to put up on hear once we are done.
  6. colleges do give the wrong impression that once your done and left you can walk in as a climber on a very hansom wage. I worked 2 days a week with a small business doing tree work wile at college for a year and finished college and have just done another year with the same company. every one else that stayed and done the two year course seems to thing there gona wonder out of college on a better wage and straight away as a climber. Its one thing to get your cs38/39 but you really are still learning along time after wards and should not expect a high rate of pay till you have proved your self.
  7. How much are you after for it???
  8. yeah at the moment we are trying to get ideas together on possible ways. we have never had a job like this befor
  9. about 10ft and its not terribly steep, but still reckon it could cause a few problems dragging stuff up it.
  10. rite i understand what you mean and how it works, but lol under the trees the river and wall are either side of the tree. every thing is going to have to come up out and over on to the field side the other side of the river and there are no trees that side.
  11. yeah there is a farmers field along the length of it. so your really talking about zip lining it down????
  12. there about 25+ foot long and at the widest as big as a car hubcap. He is wanting them off because he is worried the whole tree is going to go into the moat pulling his wall over and maybe some other trees aswell. We have looked at hiring a mog but thats £500 for the day so we were thinking could we get a winch for that money and have it to use again. A cheap boat if any one has one would be nice if not it looks like ill be going for a swim to get the bits already laying in there tied on and out.
  13. Thanks will keep that in mind where about are you??? just sorta wondering the sorta tonnage it will pull the size of the saw needed and really if they are any good.
  14. Has any one tried one of them new chainsaw powered winches???? We are looking for a winch to pull big branches out of a moat.
  15. Well climbing as well but I'm really looking for them for ground work at the moment.
  16. Always wanted to get in to ferreting and owning ferrets what's involved and how do you start?
