  2. Hey damian, Im a contract climber from the uk. Id be interested in seeing Austria. Been contracting for a bit over 2 years now. Started contracting in Stockholm and then went to ozzy for a year and contracted in Melbourne. I just got back to the uk before Crimbo and am contracting in Kent for few companys and also in sweden for a few companys. I.E rotor basis. Im actually in Stockholm now and will be here for 2 weeks then booked up in uk for another week and half...... If your keen on having someone on a rotor basis let me now asap so i can sort some stuff out. best thing to do is e-mail me at [email protected] dont use this site much. hope you boys are having a mild winter like the sweds are. Cheers MJ.
  3. Ive worked in a few industrys now around the world, and with a fair few climbers. And i think a ''Good climber'' is 2 things. 1, consistantly changing environment;......... Crew, Tree species, equipment, industry type, Continued learning, Competitions, training. 2, being liked, by others in the industry. Ive seen so many climbers who are really good at what they do, but have a bad attitude to others etc. come second best in the eyes of others to really average climbers with the right attitude. There is a level of competency that most climbers will reach in there career, ''good climbers'' might remove or prune a tree say 30 mins faster, at both jobs that day........ you try and book a 1 hour job for a crew including travel. Hence a celing price in our industry. Difference is the boys like going home an hour earlyer. so your the best climber in the world.
  4. I reckon it would work pretty good with a camed device dude, its got a slippery feel to it and seems to stay quite stiff, Reminds me of Samson velocity a bit just a tad thicker.
  5. Thanks for the help lads, always good to hear it from people who actually know whats what. Lets all hope things get beter for the uk industry sooner than later ay! Cheers MJ,
  6. I have to leave ozzy as visa runs out and il be workin a rotor between sweden, germany and uk so kinda will be staying abroad. Just figured it be nice to catch up with old friends and keep the contacts up back home.
  7. Alryt lads just havin a bit of a dig about to see how things are back home in the uk (KENT MAINLY) Ive been working abroad for a little over 2 years now and have pretty much missed the bulk of the resesion etc etc. Il be heading home at Christmas time and am looking to start contracting in late January. Ive been in contact with a few companys and there all happy as for a contractor, but there all only willing to pay about 130 a day with all saws rigging kit insurance etc etc. It sounds to me like its a bit cheap but i really dont know these days whats what. Is this the norm for experienced climbers at this point in time? Massive thanks. MJ
