  5. Where abouts are they?
  6. Thanks for the link, I have ordered some. Do you spray it on? Down here in the sunny south I have no problems with any timber except the Corsican pine. The only way I can get it to dry without mold is to stand it up in the full sun.
  7. Is wykabor the most cost effective way of stopping mold and staining occuring on freshly milled Corsican pine. Where is the best source. I am not keen on using it as some of the timber will be planed when dry. We are really struggling to stop it going moldy. Thanks John
  8. I have used Uni Power of GT Dunmow. I have always found them helpful.
  9. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to dry this without it discolouring and mould forming. We have tried outside and in well a vented shed. Today we learnt that even the timber we had pressure treated has mould forming on it. We have the problem with both winter and summer felled timber. 10. I have had my 1992 Woodmizer Lt40 for over 10 years. It still cuts very well and is an excellent machine.

  12. I could help but I think there will be others who are closer to you. It sounds like a job for a Lucas mill. If you find you do not have a enough timber for your project ,we can supply pine milled in woodland near Welwyn. John
  13. FolkStreams » The Last Shovel Maker Finally found a use for those poplar butts:001_rolleyes:
  14. Future oak table? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Well I got the shaft out with a bit of heat. This old winch has been much abused. There is hardly a bit of metal on it that hasn't been bent or welded. So I was not too surprised to find the shaft was visibly bent. I turned a new shaft and the new coupling arm arrived this morning. It is now all back together and I look forward to getting it back in the woods to try it out. I bought the winch from Chef fins auctions as an unsold lot for under £300. I think it will do me well. 16. Quick update. I took the cable off and the winch now sits outside my workshop. So far the center shaft is refusing to move. I made up a pusher but no luck yet. I need to get some more gas and will try heat at the weekend. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Yes that's right. The pine is dreadful stuff to get dry without discolouring. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app

  20. These are milled from Jeremy 's Woods near Welwyn. He has an order for posts and bollards. They will go off to be pressure treated nearby. I am in my caravan in Llandovery woods. I drive back tomorrow with the Woodmizer in tow. Johm Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app

  24. So I attach the cable to a tree and drive away. Then how does the cable drum come off. Thanks John Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. We have just acquired an old Fransgard winch. I need to get it apart to mend or replace the arm that engages the drum. If I remove the 2 clutch adjusting bolts and the large nut in the centre , will the shaft simply knock out. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app
