  1. how close can a tree be beside a building? i have taken lots of trees away beside houses because it is better safe than sorry, but is this really the case. i read a really good article that que gardens had wrote, and it had a recomendation for species and size.but i lost it:thumbdown:thanks in advance. stevie:001_smile:

  5. yes that sounds about right, i will take some pics of my winch on the din plate. when putting it on, you just slide on the pto. it is snug, but i put mine on with a tractor loader to it is pretty east, i just offset the sling a bit so one side is a bit lower so the pto slides on mate. job done
  6. i am telling you frank, the yanks or canadians will have them on the shelf in walmart. have you ever been in walmart frank. holy moly. you can by a microlite, rifle,crossbow, kit out your workshop with snap on tools plus by all your food for the year and still have change out 20 dollars so with that change you can fill up your v12 dually to the neck with go go juice. awesome:001_smile:

  10. definately email alex, i was talking to him this week about this, if you dont get the alignment 100% you will goose your pto on the mog, he recomends putting the reverser straight off the mog not onto the pto then chipper. send him an email mate. a din/schmidt plate doesnt cost much. a few hundred pounds.

  14. hi mate, i know what you are saying. the thought of taking the trailer on and off every time i want to use the chipper, or trying to jacknife it. the trailer i plan on using would be a nightmare to extend. but thanks for the input. mike you are a genius. i will rigg something up, once i get the chipper dimensions. good thinking:001_smile:
  15. you can get a clutch kit, roller bearing, washer, circlips. i always carry spares. nothing like hitting a bit of string and the circlip gets knocked off and you cant find anything on the ground:thumbdown:
  16. you want a litamiser dave, it has a brush that spins in the opposite direction and throws it into a bin. it has a high tip so you can tip into trailers.

  19. shove all the ropes in a drum of water, wrap round tree, drag them through a prusik as if you were descending a tree, thats a sure way of squeezing all the gunk out them and this time it wont all go up your sleave:001_smile:manky kit drives me mad, busy or not. wet ropes pulled out the bag a week later:scared1:the joys of working for a big company. i used to have to share climbing kit with the boss, he would do hommers all weekend in the rain and just stuff it all back in the bag for monday:thumbdown:have a nice day tomorrow rod:001_smile:
  20. i have 3 dead trees to take down next week, 2 beech and one scots pine. i tried to convince the customer about monoliths. he gave me a raised eyebrow look. i told him the difference in prices:ohmy:. guess what. tiiimber!! ps good job sanny
  21. the chipper i have in mind, mounts on to the din plate. so keeps it in nice and tight. cool little mog. barney i live in the retirement capital of the universe, old folk doze me off the road in their wee electric buggies:scared1:
  22. i know what you are saying johnny, but i am a mog man. i have taken the leap of faith years ago. and it has been good, a few big bills along the way but some good cheques as well mate:001_smile:
