  13. Hi Steve...unfortunately we cannot send climbers to the euros or worlds. this is a great shame, but as our chapter is in limbo land we are not eligible to send climbers. We have had such good talent over the years i wast to keep the comps going so new comers get to learn from experienced climbers

  16. Hi everyone. UK Open TCC is being held by Arbor Venture and being run under ISA rules. Preliminary events - Footlock, Throwline, Aerial Rescue, Work Climb and Speed Climb. Top climbers go through to the Masters climb to show their skills and techniques. Open to all, from complete Novice to experienced old timers. The emphasis is on fun and education so if you've always wanted to give it a go this would be a great comp to start at. The UK&I currently have no ISA Chapter so we wanted to hold a comp to keep the spirit alive. DATE: 29th & 30th Aug LOCATION: Lyndhurst, Hampshire Camping on site, and lots of local hotels/b&b's. We need climbers to pre register so we can organise food, t-shirts, toilets etc. Entry fee is to cover the above and insurance. Look forward to seeing some of you
  17. Hi, Yes there have been some changes. Most of the content was updated, but similar to the previous assessments. They no longer call them CS units, but now divided into Level 2 and 3 Forestry and Arb with a qualification no, and a very long title for each. NPTC This means that Lantra and other bodies are also offering the same qualification, not just City and Guilds...calling them License to Practise, rather than certificates of competence. Any old units you hold are still valid. Just any new assessments you wish to take would need to be done on this new system.
  18. Hi, I need some new parts for the chip box, does by one know where I can get the accessories from such as the hinges, latches for the rear barn doors? Thanks in advance. Jo
  19. Other than Stobarts, does anyone know of any independant biomass companies near the Wokingham, Farnbourgh location. I have approx 50tons of woodchip and large diameter Oak, and waslooking for a buyer. I need to clear the area by friday 14th. If Stobarts are the way to go then that'll be the final choice. Any help, hugely appreachiated.
  20. Arbor Venture Training now running a two day Splicing Course with Richard Hattier from the USA. Running 10th - 11th September. Sorry for the short notice! See attached for more details. Call 01590 683540 to book a place. splicing_symposium.pdf
  21. I have a venue ticking all the boxes but too far south for you all. Change the date if the venue can't do that weekend. I fully appreciate how much effort is required to pull this event together but what gets me is how it is never thought of as soon as the current one is planned and at least agree a date/ venue. There are a handful of people out there willing to help but if their not asked then they can't. Hope someone comes up with something decent in the right place for everyone.
  22. You could use one..not to ring the bells though. But no point, as in a 'work climb' you get tied in to main line at the top and race down. You could use it in the rescue if it was needed. Only real place may be in the masters, but same thing, may not be needed...it would just be another thing to snag. I know Beddes has climbed in a masters with it. And he's a master.
  23. Thanks guys, If you haven't already seen there are some pictures and soon to be video of the itcc at Davey Tree : Expert Tree Service Since 1880 : ITCC Coverage Jo
