  1. Hi Dean What is the RRP on this biomass chipper ?
  2. Yea, thats the one. Hes got a good web site Ben Law Woodsman.
  3. Hi Ed, Thought I would keep this thread going. Just been looking around all the chip and pellet ideas and seams that cost, size and fuel supply seam to be the problem. I just got hold of a boiler (25kw) that is only 1 metre high and no wider then a standard kitchen cupboard. fueled by pellets but can use chips as long as they are small ,(timberwolf chipper size). £4500 x vat. also pellets delivered at around £160 ton. Now this type of simple boiler makes sense, no fancy electronics. easy to plumb into from standard domestic water system. Fit this type of boiler your self and get your local plumber to connect and test. You need a hopper outside (or in if you got the room) and a small augur pipe up just above the boiler and then gravety feed down flexy pipe to the burner unit. These units also have stored water tank so instant hot water for your shower when needed. This type of system now makes sense for the domestic and office markets. cheap, effecient, clean and easy to run. What you think:001_smile:
  4. That House is near petworth west sussex. The house is only part of what that guy is doing. Making a nice living at £500 for a eco course and £50 for a walk round the woods and visit the house. I think he has got it right in life, out of the rat race but making money from his hard work. Good on him I say.
  5. Well here is the best of the season 18lb on herring tail on sliding treble and 30lb braid. Took me about 15mins to bring in. (nice one)
  6. Hey Dean Call us as we can fit all those bits you would like to see on your Bandit even the auto reverse feed (standard on the Carlton:001_tongue:) Our workshops can price for the mods for you.
  7. Hi Guys Here is the pictures of one way, use the forwarder after you have extracted the cords. High volume , chip quality from a drum, go any where and you can tow the trailers around site with ease. When you finished lift the chipper of with the loader and go do another forwarding job.
  8. Hey Lee Just started using braid line,(whiplash) 30lb is only 0.6mm so you can cast a lure right out without any problem even a small spinner. Once the temp gets up a few degrees going out to find the Mother of the one i got in the last picture.
  9. SP2000 is 34" wide SP2010 is 29" wide Both machines are the same build and you won't see the SP2010 on the factory spec sheets as only made for the UK market. We can convert SP2000 to SP2010 29" .costs about £400 for the mods.
  10. Thought you guys might like to see this one 1050hp Precision Husky. We run this in Norway last year. throws chips 150mm x 130mm about 200metres. have a look at the height of the chip pile
  11. Hey If you still got trouble give us a call We probely be able to convert it to a Ogura or at least beable to quote you for one or we might be able to get you a better price on the original one you got. you never know. 01273 891890
  12. Yea your right with some of that. We got good product lines and have a very good customer following mostly because we do make customer service a big part of business. But this thread does show that at the end of the day the tree care industry really is only interested in price and not so much the after sales stuff. We will still be giving the service
  13. Hi David We got a tree shear that fits on a loader, skidsteer that will take out hedges and material upto 10", also got rotation on it so highup tree branches can be cut . http://www.listonequipment.co.uk Hyreach clipper, might be some thing for the job.
  14. No don't do any contracting, Im in sales but purly from the point that I was a field service engineer servicing and repairing chippers and grinders in the 90's cos not many people did that kind a thing , most tree company did not have a chipper most used to burn or haul and log. The sales thing just grew as tree company started find the use for the chippers and grinders. so from my side the sales is based on the fact that I know how they work and sell on knowlage and not on a broucure which I think is why the chipper sale person seams to be tared with the same brush, cos ther seams to be a lot of people selling tree equipment who dont know what they are talking about and the end user soon finds out that they have the wrong machine for the job:ohmy: Problem is the trust seams to be getting lost over the years between users and dealers. It has been interesting to see over the past few years how dealers who before dident even know what a chipper was, now seam to be experts in the tree care industry (well untill the margins drop off then they be off to sell what ever is the hot thing of the day:bored:) One thing is for sure in tree equipment you get what you pay for in quality and running costs.
  15. The reason for the thread is not to dig at any one, its to find the best possible service for our industry and what the customers want. Asking quetions does not have to be digging at any one, or is that the norm for this industry. Ive been in the chipper industry since the early 90's and seen a lot of changes. By the way your comments about some chippers looking the same carry's no merit what so ever. As apart from looking simulare that is where it ends on a tecnic side the machines have very diffirent construction and workings. That is like saying why do all chain saws look the same? and so do a lot of tree from a distance come to think about it .
  16. Not quite sure what you mean by that comment:confused1:
  17. Oh that one Its because one of the Bandit engineers now works for Carlton and if you want to take some large market share world wide, you don;t need to reinvent the wheel, just make it better.
  18. Last time I weighted a Vermeer 6" it came in just over the 1000kg:w00t: and that was without the spare wheel and tyre. I think a lot of tree company will be suprised to find just how heavy some chippers are. The timberwolfs how ever are good at the weight and are normaly correct on their spec sheets and ID plates on the machine.
  19. 1260 at work give you some idear of size at work.
  20. What weight did Bandit tell you the 65XL is ?. It won't be far of the 1260. Make sure the weight you get is a wet weight (includes all fluids and full tank of fuel) as some weights given on spec sheets are dry weight only. We got guys towing them with transits. The 1260 has larger hydraulic pump and motors then the 65XL.The motors are the same as a standard model 90 Bandit (9") so you can see how the pulling force will help fold those larger limbs reducing the amount of trimming required to chip your job.
  21. Interesting points you guys are making:ohmy: Heres what we are finding, We get calls from tree companys asking for advice on all makes of machinery, mostly chippers and grinders. How do I stop this from happening , how do we fix this, can you find parts for this etc: Great for us and business and no we do not charge for advice, (or maybe we should) But the bigest problem is that when we ask who they brought it from it is always from the user/dealer companys, Who are unable to support the purchasing customer. for backup, parts & service. When asked why they did not take it back to the suppliers, its always, the same answer, they don;t want to know, or they said I have to go back the the manufacture. The problem here is that now the Machine/Make gets a bad name not the part time dealer. Question ?, would you buy a new Car from a car hire company or a Taxi company cause they drive them ?. Who don't have thier own garage and MOT centre etc: The other problem would apply to equipment imported into Europe cheap from China, USA etc. and it has not got the correct CE regulations required to conform by the importer, then the user will probley not be insured. I think price has a lot to do with your dealer purchases and I tend to think that whilst the smaller guy will sell the equipment cheaper to the end user because his overheads are lower this also puts up the price of equipment over time as the real equipment dealers put up prices to cover costs, IE, the more units sold the lower the margin can be due to more sales.(lower equipment rrp) The smaller part time seller will ride on the higher prices so their price looks nice and low, But in practice they are pocketing a much higher profit, but is it not these type of deals that put up the price of goods over the longer periods long after the part time sales company have given up being there for the purchaser.
  22. Hey you guys. Can a tree surgery company be a user of equipment, BUT also claim to be a dealer for the machines & equipment ?. would you purchase machinery and/or equipment from your competition ?. or Can a equipment dealer also be quoting for tree work. Can it be done ?.
