  1. Hi Jonesie,

I wish to order one of the 4.2m japanese tripod ladders do i do it through here or via your website? I also need a 25litre drum of chain oil would i be charged for delivery on this as a seperate item? Can you give me an esimation of delivery time?

    Cheers Andy.

  2. how much do you get in an artic load??? I dont have transport but can get to roadside/load if needed. Pm me with contact details if you want to know more. I have no idea what this timber would be worth so i am trusting peoples input!!!
  3. Hi everyone, i am just starting a felling job for 27no 3 - 4' dbh @ approx 75 - 80' high all Poplar - originally planted by Bryant & May for match sticks, but they have now realised it is cheaper to import!! Seams a shame to just cut it all up as it is all pretty straight must be of some use. Is anyone interested or know of anone that could be? Can get the timber to roadside and load if required. cheers Andy.
  4. i have been in this business since 1989 and had nothing other than LDV the only engine i have not had in one is the transit 'banana' type engine. Ok they are slow (the duratorque ones i have arent!) but they are pretty much bomb proof, no fancy interior - just right to get the blower in to remove all the woodchip!!! I still have a 1998 crewcab on the road with a peaugeot engine in, again really slow loaded or empty but just keeps going! They sit pretty high up with a 'full' load and seam to be more economical than many others. And best of all because they aint that fancy the ****** tend to leave them alone!! Shame they dont make them anymore I would recommend for your first truck but that is my opinion! Andy.
  5. 123-reg as everyone else on here, no probs, easy to use and good prices too!
  6. have a look see if you have anyone near you that makes potatoe boxes as it is mostly poplar they use. Good luck as i have the same problem too!! Andy.
  7. wicked looking and very practical bit of kit - looked at the log ox's sack barrows wheeled barrows but they only cart wood, i constructed a small timber trailer for the quad but it isnt as narrow as this. Will be having a good look at the APF with a future view to purchasing. Nice one. Andy.
  8. That looks like a nice machine matey, Looks very similar to a Ferris which is sold here in the UK, i do a lot of work in the US and have found there is endless designs and build qualities of the machine you have got and most of them come with the little dollys for riding on as standard! Hope it works ok for you chap - get cutting while the sun is shining!!! Andy.
  9. Hi matey, Just one thing i had with mine a few years ago is that the air filter was oiling up etc - pretty much as you have described. We found it was due to the mower being backed up a set of ramps and sitting at an angle whilst the box was being emptied. Just keep the air filter changed often, clean the plug etc job done! As for the fuel consumption that sounds about right if you are using it flat out. I found the best way to solve all these issues was to buy 124d's that are deisel and hydro high lift and cut at approx 18kph! We still have one of the old mvehh and use it to tow chippers about and rear mounted sprayer attached - it still keeps battling on!!!
  10. thanks for the heads up - new was too late now, client wanting to complete at the right time of year and just wants a ball park figure for budgeting purpose. Just thought someone might be interested to have a look with regards doing it later in the year. The hedge comprises of mainly Hawthorn and Blackthorn. And as i said before if there is no-one about does anyone know of any courses that are run?
  11. Hi all i have just had an enquiry for a job that includes some hede laying - this is something i have been interested in but never done. The job is just south of Peterborough - does anyone on here do this type of work or know someone that does and is interested in coming to have a look? Failing that does anyone know of any courses that are run?
  12. have you thought about hiring an alpine magnum - check out there web site they look pretty sturdy on slopes and i have been told they are as productive as some of the hydraulic machines also they run on a saw engine so are two stroke - dont mind the working angles. Just a thought.
  13. i too have a big butt to get in the air and currently have a weaver 1038 - super comfy and all the d rings are in the right place! super tough too highly recommend.
  14. I have had many different types of lids over the years - like you i was wondering if this type of lid was any good? I have got one made by kask with the 'top gun' sheild and i can honestly say it is the most comfortable i have ever had - only had it a couple of weeks so i will have to wait until it warms up to see if it get too hot - hasnt done yet mind (cant be working too hard!!)
  15. what switch was it fella as i am having the same problem with my reverse switch on my tw. Could you let us have the details. Cheers Andy.
  16. Hi all, i have this large lump of beech that i have started ringing up at the customers request, just wanted to know peoples opinions if this is worth something as the spalting and colouration is fantastic. Seams a real shame to just ring it - i was thinking of planking it but thought i would ask around first. Also if i got my local timber merchant to have a look i wanted to have an idea so i didnt get fleeced!! The butt is 4ft wide and 10ft long (6ft has been reduced in width to 2ft - for planking). All input would be welcomed.
  17. We use the Etesia hydro 100's and the 124d's - have done for many years, cant fault them at all they have been very reliable - you just need an operator that knows where all the safety switches are - as these can mess you about!!! Cut great in the wet and long grass, economical on diesel (124's) and the high lift is fantastic. We looked at various machines before we got the Etesias - wouldnt want for anything else. Also the front hitch and hydraulics are very usefull.
