  1. I see you have a Career 707 air rifle. Is it 12 ft lbs or beefed up ? You can get those things to run at 80 ft lbs but you have to use 40 grain pellets and you get 5 shots per charge, a cracking air rifle. Nice tree pics btw, I like the L200 conversion, did you have it done and if so how much did it cost ? ..................Oooops, just noticed how old the thread is.
  2. That,s a good result TC. Are you going to eat all of those bunnies ?
  3. A blessing in disguise is the way I,d see it, he wont be around forever. I like you,re avatar btw, Superman Stewart.
  4. And worth of every penny of it Stevie I seem to be having my second wind since last August and reinforced by finding Arbtalk. I love the look of big boys toys and fancy a slice of it. Thanks to everyone for their input.
  5. Had a call five minutes ago and the job is in the bag and booked for the 27th of Feb, result £2000.
  6. I would,nt say you,re passed it mate but you,ve left it very late for the climbing side of things.
  7. Hahaha, horse shite it aint. Ive just called him and he informs me that it is "Meripulus Gigantius" and it was on a Douglas Fir.
  8. I am slowly developing an interest, I photographed this yesterday while walking around Bedgebury Pinetum with the curator. He did tell what it is but I cant remember it,s name.
  9. Sorry I flew off the handle Woodpicker. I started in June 82.
  10. Someone is gonna have to bring a big shot if we get permission to climb it. I walked around with the curator today and looked at a group of Oak,s which I think might be the better option as we could split into groups. He has to put the idea before a committee and see if they approve, then call me and let me know the verdict. I,ll post the outcome as soon as I know, fingers crossed.
  11. The six foot one is the old git of Kent.
  12. The Old Man of Kent.
  13. Yes mate, I definitely priced it to get it. It,s so difficult to accurately price it from pics.
  14. With youre outfit it would be two days without doubt. When work picks up again I,m gonna follow suit and buy something proper like you. I take my hat off to you Skyhuck.
  15. Youre bang on Mesterh, I just did,nt want to confuse the issue. You dont need glasses btw
  16. Indeed! I now know I have priced it well. All shall be revealed in a day or so.
  17. I,ll let it rot on my eco friendly pile. The Stag beatles n birds will love it. Rupe: "Four Pops".
  18. I,m reckoning on 5 days. Myself, the wife/groundie and Rich Rule hired in for three days. I think Rich and I will share the climbing, the Mrs. on the chipper and two days grace.
  19. I,d rather not say at the mo. They have one more quote to come and you never know who,s watching Arbtalk.
  20. Thanks for the majority of the comments so far. Its really difficult from pics I know. I would love to use a mewp on it, but alas I am far to tight. As for replanting with some thing else, I,d like to see them grow again so someone else can do them in the future. Right now I could use the work like the rest of us I guess.
  21. You,ve just give me the right hump.:mad1:
  22. Not at all. Ive been in this game a fair bit longer than you Woodpicker. I,m just interested in other peoples opinions, so long as they are constructive opinions.
  23. Priced these today.Re-pollard four Poplars, all the chip stays and all the wood needs to go to my yard 20mile away. So far I am the best quote and there is one more quote to come. Ive priced em to get em so what would you,re "estimate" be considering you are only looking at photo,s.
  24. Nah, that,s peed me off a bit. I want my poppy money to go somewhere more needy than that.
  25. No disrespect to you mate, but I would,nt take it if they offered to me and I,m ex forces as well. If you want it bad enough you can do it off you,re own back.
