  1. Only kidding Dean, you and your entourage did really well after a long day. Your groundie Luke is a good laugh aswell:thumbup1:

  3. Thanks Joe. It still hurts but funnily enough I can still hold a bottle of beer in it:wink:
  4. What a muppet! I could'nt get into the shed this morning cos the key kept spinning in the lock, so out comes the club hammer(it was indoors cos I'm decorating at the mo..Mick style) whacked the lock a dozen times but no luck, so barked an order at the missus to fetch the drill. This will get me in to my beloved new kit I thinks. Started drilling the lock and in my rush it slipped and went in my hand, luckily into the soft part between thumb and forefinger and not bone. The bit broke and I squeezed my hand to feel if it was in there, it was'nt but loads of air bubbles came out with not alot of blood. So back to the hammer and after another two dozen blows it cracked, kit loaded and wound cleaned and dressed off we went. My hand was really hurting so I could'nt pull properly, so pantin to the rescue and away I went. Even came down for a tea then back up again. Hahahaha I,m a gadget convert for sure.
  5. Yeah I'm gonna cut the gecko up for a lanyard, get a decent rope and use whats left of the gecko for manky conifer. I should have bought a new one Saturday really, but me being me drove away with £500 in my pocket (tightwad). Oh well if I'd bought all the things I need at once I'd get too excited. So new rope, oval crabs and an art ropeguide next.
  6. I'd never get her off it lol.
  7. Yeah, well the missus did all the graft on the ground while I played with the VT and pantin hahahahaha, when we had a break she could'nt work out why I was happy and not sitting there moaning as usual haha.
  8. Thanks for the offer aaron but the jobs done now.
  9. I bet your groundie loves that. That looks like a nice job with the right gear, loadsa crud removed easily and a good earner I bet.
  10. I did on site this morning from memory. Just had a look at Matty's pic again and set it on the patio. Think its right now. Now it will work even better than today. How will I sleep tonight, I'm even more excited now haha.
  11. Well second actually, the first time I tried it was back in Feb on Rich Rules set up. I could'nt get on with it and everytime I got it wrong Rich would rap my nuckles with a silky, which did,nt help really and got blood everywhere. Anyway after Saturday I knew it was time to invest in my own and get used to it. So today I used it properly for the first time and what a treat, especially when used with my new pantin. I got used to it fairly quickly and loved it, infact I'm actually looking forward to climbing again tomorrow. Thats a first for years. I think I've got it set right although I must get some oval crabs next. In the last pic I put an extra wrap on the tail but wont know until tomorrow what it feels like. So any old buzzards that aint switched over yet should really give it a try. It's nice to get excited about climbing again.
  12. Some valuable pointers there Yorkshireman, Thanks. Arbaholic: Eventually after a slow transition I would like to earn all running costs and a decent wage. Your local, how much you paying per load at the mo?

  17. Could someone post a pic of a VT please. I bought all the gubbins on Saturday and dont wanna use my prussik tomorrow.:001_smile:pretty please:001_smile:
  18. No I've got another 18yrs to go. I dont think I'll ever stop working though, just want something a little easier, stay in the game and not work for anyone else.
  19. Who in my area wants a days climbing tomorrow. Short notice I know but its there if someone wants it. If you can be at mine for 07.30 with full climb kit I'll pay premium if your good.
  20. Tbh the idea of a house had'nt really entered my head, I'm just thinking about an easier work life in a few years time.
  21. I'd have to have it all above board Ed, which would'nt be that difficult round here. Planning would be a doddle I reckon considering the amount of travellers that have bought land and settled around here. Hmmmm, good point about the house! First thing I'd do is get a postcode.
  22. I've had an idea in my head for a while now and it goes like this. I know of a piece of land near me for sale, its about 15 acres and grade one agricultural. Obviously I'd check with the council as to change of use etc. Then I buy it and turn it into a woodyard for bonafide tradesmen to tip chip and wood for a fee. I trundle around in a tractor tidying up or split wood to sell on. I would carry on my present business for a while until hopefully one day I could get away from the usual crud that goes with the job. Truth is I aint getting no younger and I'm long overdue an easier life. I know there's enough arbs around my area plus if it were well advertised then arbs from other area's could tip when working nearby. So my question is am I looking at this idea through rose tinted glasses or do you think it could work? Mick.
  23. Excuse my ignorance, what is it?
  24. 3.45 I do believe.
  25. Second that mate, I will definetly make more effort next year to attend more shows. Fair play to you for all the miles you put in.
