    260v341

Can thoroughly recommend the 346 tommer.I was thinking of investing in another smaller saw.Thinkin 361,not sure 2 346's would be a good idea.Heard that about the 341 as well
  2. The fibreglass sledge hammer survived i meant.Like your small country pad,is that for weekend retreats?
  3. Mine had a crack in it that i hadn't noticed till it broke whilst in action.Never really used it since funnily enough. Some bright spark left the hammer on the brash mat last week an the forwarder ran over it,isn't fibreglass great.
  4. Sure beats breakin the long cant hook though!
  5. Somehow i'm not really thinkin about firewood when am lookin at that avatar.I believe our 2140 is perfect for runnin 480rpm in 1000 range except its only got 540 not even 540e which would be a slight help.So surely if you've only one shaft like mine you don't need an adapter?
  6. I use a fore hammer for mine an 2 rings on each wedge. Each to their own dude.I hit metal in an elm last week with a new 28'' an ripped off 5 teeth!:thumbdown:ps no pics, sorry
  7. We use a JD 2140 on our Posch 3000.She more than capable powering and driving on road with front.Payed £1500 for her 2 year ago.Keep your loads consistent samtheman an good luck.
  8. Me too tommer long ago.The 12 x 6 takes ages to crank by hand. But you've to keep an eye on the terminals in the winter(salty roads).Broken wire,no charge,NOT GOOD.Jist filled mine once today andy an got it tipped round the corner.
  9. Great video.Always willing t pick up some new tips.Certainly plenty there.Did a similar takedown with the pull line on some DED elms last week.Sometimes you've just to make the best use of whats rounabout you eh.
  10. I like the rocking technique they used both times.Back and fore, back and fore oh look it's jist gone back into the neighbours porch thingy! The old dude didn't seem that bothered if he was the client:confused1:
  11. Yes andy the ifor tippers do work well, filled mine today. Not so good when the battery is flat though!Good job by the way, thats the kind i like.
  12. Then you'll defo need a low loader. When we put the chains on the forwarders an harvesters they stayed on.My valmet is surprising without them in the wood.Narrow wheels always climb better. But if it's a bog it's a forwarder,tj810 or valmet 820 you need with tracks on.
  13. Don't get me started about them. One ot there bigger chiefs stopped us at a roadside job we were doing for NTS and picked us up on some minor sign details.Ok sorted it out then next few days came across one of there traffic managment jobs,DOUBLE STANDARDS.All i'm saying
  14. Mine runs well on 36'' as well. It's a power match with the .404 sprocket changed for 3/8.1.6 chain though. Can't remember price, wasn't too savage.
  15. It went out to LA tender so it must be an approved contractor hence the secrecy. And we say on our phone book an yellow pages ads were LA approved, what happens when joe public see's that and finds out the culprit was approved!
  16. Yes aye it was, forgot to mention that. That's the only bit they got right!
  17. We're all trying to work out who it is. I wonder if the guilty party wonders what he/she has done. Its a shame though that the council go for the cheapest job as you can see.
  18. We've been hiring a Hinawa, I think its called, the same people who make the under carriage for the Jensen tracked chippers. 19m tracked very versatile machine but outreach could be better. Very wobbly compared to other mewps, but then it is 19m and weighs 2.1tonne.

    Chain sharpening

Does that mean with your grinders that you get less out of your chains? Only time I ever use a grinder is for harvester chain. If the chainsaw chain is really bad stick it in the vice and get two hands on the file (more purchase) makes it quicker.
  20. How many times do you think they have been smacked by the winch rope when it broke trying to pull out that elusive log? Yes the skipper of the barge was a bit excitable wasn't he. Did you notice he was so wound up about hitting the bridge he didn't think to slow down before he hit it!
  21. I tendered for this job the spec was a 25% reduction, as far as I know there were 3 maybe 4 approved contractors in the tender. I did not win the tender. The LA rep will not tell us who carried out the work and along with myself one other approved contractor has complained for obvious reasons (mis-tendering). Who do you think folks should the approved contractor be struck off the list, its not a good advert as the tree in question is HIGHLY visible.
  22. Bet you couldn't do that without and stay on the ladder. No pics publishable of the big MAN in action!!!!
