  1. I always have a sling with me.And as the rain came in it gave me the edge on the greasy scudamore branches.
  2. Other than moving the Mewp I rather enjoyed it and it was very quiet and peaceful.
  3. Other than when I was moving into position it was a relatively quiet procedure and I rather enjoyed it.
  4. With a few alterations to the gate we got it in.So with storms forecast later I got cutting.(and slinging and chucking)
  5. The Mewp arrived bang on time but they'd sent a slightly larger model and it had to get into the yard.
  6. But knew I would probably get most of it with these two items.
  7. My friend who is doing construction/renovation on a house wanted this Tree gone.I toldhim if he got a MEWP in I'd get the crown out on day one.Thankfully cut/chuck/hold,branch manipulation is my favourite Arb discipline and was going to require that from start to finish. There were two small triangular holes that I planned to drop the brash through and as the crown came apart it would open up into a larger void.Nice and peaceful with the battery saw but what I call a "busy tree".I knew the 161T would dismantle nearly all of it with ease but it would be a good test for battery longevity.
  8. The Wheel[emoji106][emoji605]
  9. I,m a totally different fox these days! OK,My go...Recreatioal Drug user from 1988-1995ish (Ecstasy,Acid,Speed etc etc...) 1997-Decmber 31st 2016 Alcoholic (Anything with alcohol in it) Just stopped no help needed...4 years and a bit Sober...Dont miss it.I find life too exciting without it.I have more money,Healthier than I've ever been and my mood, energy brainpower have definately increased.I,m lucky in that I am very determined and headstrong and found quitting easy.Others are not so lucky.
  10. Are you dealing with or had experience of any of the above? Discuss [emoji16][emoji898][emoji485][emoji483]🥃[emoji481][emoji382][emoji381]
  11. PeteB and too you too mate! Time Gentleman please[emoji16] I have a suggestion and I think it will be a seriously good idea for this Forum.Who has the "bottle" to start a Thread for AA/NA/GA related stuff. It would be a great source of help and advice for something that is very much needed.I would be but I am Treetotal for life now...I'm about to tell the tale of an Ivy clad dismantle using a battery saw and other MEWP related pictures and I feel a dedicated thread for people on here is long overdue with such important posts being forthcoming. All the best cheers.Have a safe and happy weekend Arbtalkers.
  12. Indeed Mr Hewn there is a Big Treeworld out there and there is light at the end of this tunnel[emoji574]
  13. Even organised last weeks job whilst on the move.(Dismantle crown to where the tree could be safely felled into the yard).Targets-9 BT wires,a couple of roofs, chimney pot, walls etc...No chipping as the owner would organise someone to stack the branches.I agreed to do it from a Platform and use only battery power.A good chance to showcase the Amazing 161T. 14. I'm cycling about 15 Miles everyday and that will increase bow that we are into spring. My phone runs completely on voice commands and I had heard great things about SP products.I have been using it for about 3 weeks now.I know people who have this on their mountain bikes, motorbikes and for me on my smooth tarmac circuit it is something I can never do without now.I can have maps on split screen and talk to my Grandson or friends abroad whilst exercising. It is locked on yet releases so simply. The 3M docking port is now a permanent part of the rubber case. Its going nowhere.
  15. For the last year I have spent my time perfecting my fitness routine and cycling has become a daily thing as I did when I began this thread. All my Tree work is close to my home and I get picked up at the bottom of the street but I needed to have a mobile office on two wheels now.
  16. Espresso in the morning and then water throughout the day.(Electrolites when I cycle forgo to the gym)
  17. Last month I scrapped my car of two years. It failed its MOT on emissions and needed various things doing. It had served me well but this was a poignant moments I realised this would be my final vehicle I owned in this country.I got £170 scrap for it...Tax and insurance refunded.
  18. Cheers! I'ts getting harder to keep up with my life at the moment.Events are rapid to say the least but unfolding just nicely.
  19. You know what I love? The sound of the birds in the early morning with the patter of raindrops on the leaves when I have Friday off.
  20. Great responses folks👍👍👍👍 Whatever your stance on the A word be honest with yourself ....It's a very Dangerous drug if it gets hold of your life......For me that life is long gone and so to continue....Chapter 2121 "My New Life"
  21. So to answer your question Mr Bullman or at least in my experience. My last drop was over Four years ago.I just stopped.Without help.I dont miss it and am never tempted because in all honesty I never enjoyed it I was just a binge drinking alcoholic who was hooked and just needed to take control....I started to feel a real difference after about 90 days.Six months felt amazing and at one year I was a different person. And now I cant even remember what it feels like to even be "tiddly" and remember I was consuming 56 cans a week....Minimum.....for 20 years!!! I can honestly say other than my determination and positivity I am a completely different person...or rather I am the person I was always meant to be🙂
  22. As I sat outside my local pub the Elm Tree I sat staring down at my Stella.I just kept thinking that if I made it my last and left before midnight I was almost free from a life that had felt as if i had been a slave to alcohol which I had .....I looked at the time.It was 10.30 p.m. I took a final sip, left about half of it and walked away from the crowded smokey beer garden and walked the short distance up the cobbled street home.I went to my room and sat on my bed.My last thought was that I had wasted many years of my life and if I just went to sleep now before the stroke of midnight I would wake up in a year that I could start living as the old Paul. And I did.
