  1. "Bashlin" are great! And "Gecko" are even lighter!
  2. There is nothing out there in my opinion that is anywhere near as good as a Silky in terms of cut or construction...tried everything over the years from Sandvick...corona.... ARS Trojan..Samurai....all terrible.
  3. You just need someone who is willing to soak you in ice cold water...my lad was only too happy to help...I'm sure Mrs Egg and Mrs Plogs would do the same.
  4.
  5. :d:d
  6. No Jon....that's my niece.
  7. Thanks Graham Bird for the Nomination...and from Adam Finch. didn,t want to get involved with it,good or bad but my Son who poured the very cold water insisted...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHnJdJhcF00&feature=player_detailpage
  8. Time spent on a prussick will help you descend on a ZigZag because of the similarities with "feeling" the links collapse in your hand like a prussick bunching up and allowing the rope to move through it.....but the ascent on S.J and ZZ are similar in that you can feed your climbing line "hand over hand" into the device gaining height as you go.....but like Arran said,if you have an emergency on the ground like a cuppa you pull the trigger on the S.j (without applying the wooden brake) and you will arrive there in seconds!! But feathering the brake is advisable.
  9. With the S.J You only free-fall when you descend on it without applying the wooden brake at the same time.....The ZZ self-tends.... perfect on limb walks....add the fact that it has little or no sit-back and with practice allows for smooth movement and working position.
  10. I have had such a crappy month!!!! I will share that experience when the time is right...till then, now I have light on the horizon and I am back in the game....I can celebrate with my Son...who is my best friend and rock to lean on in desperate times....best night ever!
  11. I can tell how much weight is on there....

  14. Look forward to it.
  15. Sounds just the job for you Mr Git. For anyone who doesn't know him...Jon ("Git" not "plogs":D) is one of the most labour saving thinking outside the box chaps I've ever met and tgats why he has become such a good mate and because he is such an avid Arbtalker to me is a bonus! Great toy jon and so pleased for ya...........ok, new day....new boss....I'm of to climb a couple of trees on this fine fresh saturday morning!
  16. I can pucture Bolam in these with his scream mask on...nothing else:D
