  1. When I first saw this at the APF i knew they were Professionals??? and now I,ve met them and I,ve found out i was right.
  2. Looking for a foot in the door puts me into survival mode and that is when the best opportunity happens for me.A couple of weeks ago I got in touch with a company who I have admired again from seeing them at the APF.I had an I informal meeting with them which went really well.I like people who are professional and passionate about this industry and these brothers are certainly that.So hopefully a chance to meet them again but on a work site could happen.Fingers crossed.I feel really optimistic about this year and I am putting everything in place to facilitate that.Sell yourself. That,s the best advice I could ever give anyone.Show enthusiasm. So if I can get a couple of days SRT in before I head down the motorway for work then I will have got this year off to a grand start. And who knows I may find what I am looking for in the North East??
  3. Looking forward to a few days on a clearance job with IC Trees next week.We bump into each other almost every Arb show or APF going back a number of years now.Always had a good chin wag but never had the chance to work together.Really looking forward to getting stuck in to working alongside him and his team Ground clearing with the help of his digger and Bandit.Full time work is a bit thin on the ground up here so far this year and until I can create my own business I shall do what is familiar and travel and meet new teams.Even did a day with my Son last week.First time I,ve ever climbed for my son and he paid me! Quite a proud moment.
  4. Just done my food shop.Lived off this over the last few months.I just Rotate between Chicken breast,Turkey and Salmon.Start the day with Espresso then Oats with two cubes of 90-100% cocoa. No more than the bowl will hold. Then my meal in the afternoon.Fruit before six.Nothing after Six except water, about two litres. It,s not exciting but it,s keeping me full of energy,Focused and in the best shape of my life....And of course Zero alcohol(That,s the best bit for me)
  5. Like Steve said, any Stihl dealer.Got mine at Gustharts. You get two and they hold a double espresso.
  6. That,s my first bread and potatoes in months. When I ate it I felt the biggest hit as my body absorbed it.I,ll stick to Wholegrain rice and Salmon. But the meat did taste superb.
  7. Buffalo meat is lower in Fat and cholesterol than Turkey and Chicken and higher in Protein[emoji16]
  8. So back to You Tube.I need an SRT fix! While I wait for the garage to call and I can load up.I,ve found some very Knowledgeable folk on there but I really enjoy watching JB when I first wake in the mornings or Buckin Billy.Gentle kind of Tree related stuff.Ease my mind into the week.Have a safe and productive one Arbtalkers[emoji106]
  9. So all in all I,m pretty covered for crown work. From Zubat[emoji654]️MSA161t(10 inch bar)[emoji654]️MS200T(12 inch/14inch)[emoji654]️MSA220C(14/16 inch)
  10. And the balance of this short Zubat combined with the large teeth make it my favourite mini handsaw (Straight blade Nakanoto 60 being my all time favourite)
  11. Of all the kit I have either replaced or renewed there I one item that stands out for me and that is of course this.Nothing comes close for me.The combination of Safe and Modern climbing methods and to manipulate branches with a Silky gives me the most pleasure. And anew blade feels as good as a new pair of socks in my opinion?
  12. Got my freshly MOT,d car to pick up and I,m ready to roll.....somewhere.
  13. I now have one "dirty kit" with Petzel Sequoia,Rope with prussick, and Cambium saver. 2nd bag with ZigZag,rope with and Pulley saver. And 3rd bag with ZigZag+,Cicane,Drenaline and ring, lanyard with Art positioner,Haas and CT. Sorted?
  14. I,m going to pack all the my gear up into kit bags now.Harness is adjusted perfectly.I have all I need on it and i can access it.I like minimal. The only only other addition will be a sling.
  15. It certainly wasn't going to rain on my parade today.Ozzy told me he,d never been on a train before so we decided to hop on for one stop to our nearest neighbour.I used to visit here most weekend when I was a kid.It seemed so far away and looked so big as we crossed the Tyne.It felt like we were a long way from home in a very big city.It actually takes less than 15 minutes on the train. The streets were empty when we got there but my Grandson thoroughly enjoyed the short journey. We went as far as the Bigg Market which was where I spent most weekends during the 80,s turned back and returned home. The trains are certainly a far cry from the smokey ones I remember.
  16. Never seen it like this before.Huge amount of rain has fallen....
  17. Afterwards I took the dog out to his favourite park....just a bit of standing water?
  18. Moving very fast. The city is safe,we are situated on seven hills and only the riverbanks and one minor road will be affected
  19. As I walked the short distance I could see the river was way above normal and not far off the entrance to the gym.Quite exciting.
  20. Spent most of the weekend at home wearing my 4SRT Chester and foot ascender over my sock?? When I moved from Prussick to Spiderjack I just bought the gear and used it on the next work climb.A good size Beech reduction as I recall then London Plane re-Pollard and by day three which was decent dismantle I was quite proficient in it.Same when I started with a ZigZag (Which was a lot easier) Had i sussed on the first job.But this time i have spent a couple of weeks looking at hours of SRT related stuff mainly on you tube.Which systems work best with what rope,Chest attachments,Foot ascenders, knee ascenders etc etc.I've been tying alpine butterflies into everything, bunny ears and even a Texas tug or too! Retrieval methods are my favourite watch at the moment.I have never prepared myself so well for a crossover into a new way of Tree climbing, access or movement.I know I am going to love it.Just waiting for Storm Dennis to blow over.In the meantime I am sitting here in the dark with a gale blowing outside watching Pfannerman as Rich Rule suggested??Familiarising myself with all my new gear.I did leave the house to go to the gym to work off my first burger in a while.Plain Buffalo which was first class...with a few onions and potatoes.Quite healthy apparently. But I did feel the need to work it off the next morning
  21. The river which is usually calm and a lot lower says it all...Swollen and like a torrent today.
  22. Thanks for that Mr Egg.I may very well take you up on that and it would be good to see you again.
  23. I didn't realise they were in our region Mark.I should have found out years back.Good to know now mate.I,ll never need to buy another pair again.
