1. We will soon need another climber to join our team of 5 based just south of Oslo in Norway. You will need the ETW (European Tree Worker) certificate and need a minimum 3 years experience. Since brexit it has been harder to get visas for Brits here so ideally the applicant will have Duel nationality or a European citizenship. My company is called Ekorn Trepleie AS and has been established for 11 years, for a little more info, please take a look at the website: ekorntrepleie.no Reply to this post or pm me with a short description of your certifications, experience and contact details, i look forward to hearing from you, thanks! 2. Hi Paul thanks for the work you do at Arbtalk, im trying to find a guy named Paul Poynter who's in Japan, can you put me in touch with him or send me a link to his profile here? Cheers

 3. Theres not many qualified tree surgeons here, we use the EAC system and ETW certificates and the local council recognise ISA certificates too. But the NPTCs are not recognised as well here, not because they are not good enough but because NPTC do not endorse the Arb Association here, they said the market was too small. So shortage of workers is the main reason...
 4. Hello my name is Douglas Baylin, I run a small company called Ekorn Trepleie AS in Oslo, Norway. We are looking for a second climber for the season from April/May to November, can be flexible with the dates and schedule. Mostly section felling work, some pruning, some stump grinding from time to time. Good rate for experienced climber and ETW certified or trailer license would be a bonus. Please reply/send me a mail or call if you are interested and we can talk about your experience and pay rate etc. Regards Doug +4792455185 [email protected] http://www.ekorntrepleie.no
 5. The position is now filled, but anyone interested for next year can leave their contact details, Cheers Douglas

Hello.

I have just seen your ad on arbtalk looking for a lead climber which you placed two weeks ago and although I do not qualify for that postion yet I thought I would just send you a short message to see if you have any other positions avaliable now or in the future.

About me-

31 year old englash man. I only have a years expierence in the industry but am getting on well. I drive and have done my basic qualifications. I have been doing quite a lot of climbing and can work confidently on many small and medium trees but I still have a long way to go before I can do everything well. However I am very keen to improve. At present I am self-employed and have regular work with some established local companys (mostly domestic). I will need to move house some point in the next four months so am looking for something, challenging and exciting to do next.

Thanks,

Dan

 8. The Timber cats are awesome! I've been using a pair for 3 months. took at least 2 weeks to wear in, as the inside heal seems really hard. the memory foam fits well the same as the airstream but i did squash the foam a little when i took of the left boot and stood on the the back end of it. the result is its still (after 2 weeks) a little misshapen and slightly affects the fit. its gradually getting better with use. Soles-are not vibram but something else which i can't read believe it or not! they are grippy enough without the spikes but I've only had them for 3 months so far. The spikes- 6 spikes twist out of the sole with an easy action. BRILLIANT. quick and easy and haven't had them get stuck, stiff or blocked, even in the snow and ice (I'm climbing in Norway) On pruning- the spikes are great on thicker barked trees but perhaps a little aggressive on smooth barked trees with a few scratches here and there, best keep them tucked away if you've got a fussy client. however, when its wet and slippery its great to break out the spikes for added traction :-) Price- astronomical. i paid NOK 3500, they are cheaper in the UK(about £300?) but i couldn't wait for people to order them in and send them over. Yellow colour has stayed bright so far, leather is starting to grey as with the streams. Don't jump on the chipper to turn the shoot when you have the spikes out :-/ they leave their mark! Cold- i tend to get cold feet with most boots but then again it is -10 here at the moment. Overall a very good boot (if a little painful to start with the price and the rock hard heel) but i am definitely satisfied and the novelty of the spikes is ongoing. Definitely would buy another pair.

 15. My post was from a month ago, got a diagram from someone else but not the right one, please forward it to me too! [email protected] Ours is back up and running but the new fuel stop solenoid had different coloured wires, wrong attempts was the reason for the fuse blowin'. Doug
