UK spends more financing inequality in favour of rich than rest of Europe, report finds | Inequality | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Inequalities of income, wealth and power cost UK £106.2bn a year compared with average developed OECD country https://equalitytrust.org.uk/sites/default/files/resource/attachments/ReportCostofInequality-1.pdf

  3. France warns people off Black Friday clothes deals WWW.BBC.CO.UK The French government has launched a campaign encouraging people not to buy new clothes during festive sales.
  4. Yep, it's a load of tosh. More imported yank BS. The likes of Amazon must be laughing their way all the way to the bank at this time every year. I bet they can't believe that so many consumers are still falling for it.
  5. Good on them. Opt Out of Black Friday | Gränsfors Bruk Sweden WWW.GRANSFORSBRUK.COM We are distancing ourselves from Black Friday, along with our sister companies Woolpower and Svedbro Smide, and will...

    Jokes???

    Shouldn't that be M rather than H?
  7. Yep, they look like the most likely contenders. Thanks. I've seen bumblebees looking like that buzzing around the place before. I think they nested in an air vent in one of the house walls one year. Those 'orrible multiculturalists coming over here in their little boats with they're foreign food and there foreign bees. Their even taking over our nest boxes now, it's outrageous! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  8. Cheers but it doesn't look like the normal wasp nests that I know. They're made of regurgitated wood, paper like stuff. There was non of that in there. I found the same thing once before, but that was between two scaffold planks stacked on the ground. Different type of wasps maybe?
  9. Found inside two bird nesting boxes this afternoon. It looked looks like some kind of cocoon structure, all glued together with silky stuff. Incredibly strong, it was a real struggle to prise the lids of both boxes open. Any ideas?

    Jokes???

My idea of fun; Facebook M.FACEBOOK.COM Almost as good as putting bangers and crow scarers in cow pats! Or pumpkins. Or water.
  12. Not great this year, on the small side, but good nonetheless. Anyone else?
  13. Interestly, the red fleshy bit of the seeds isn't poisonous though, just the actual seed inside. They taste mildly sweet but not really worth bothering with; having tried them out of curiosity.
  14. Epic piece of work.
  15. Agree with all that but your first point is pushing it a bit - I don't think anyone can be worse than Johnson. He's left a huge list of fckups. Just look at what's coming out of the Covid enquiry. The moral pygmy wasn't much worse than Trump or Bolsonaro. The deadly failings of a moral pygmy - The New European WWW.THENEWEUROPEAN.CO.UK Boris Johnson’s lack of focus and lack of humanity cost lives during Covid. Yet instead of facing charges, he is raking in... Richy Rich Rishi seems to be further to the right, but he feels slightly more level headed and much less dishonest than Boris at least. The EDL and other knuckle draggers must have been well confused on Sunday; being called to arms by someone who looks like one of their sworn enemies. (Maybe they fortified with extra rations of Stella and white powder). Weird times indeed.
  16. You don't need insurance. Any decent company will cover you with theirs at this stage. I reckon actually knocking on doors is the way forward. Meeting people in person goes a long way, rather than in writing. They can tell far more about you, (and you them). Even a phone call is better, more opportunities for discussion and social interaction. Spend a few hours visiting local firms. Late afternoon, early evening might be the best time.
  17. I think you've just got to try a few more places. Those that have said no so far must be a bit foolish and unreasonable. There's always non-skilled, labourious, work to be done that doesn't require tickets or prior experience. Especially if it's being done for free! As long as you are prepared to knuckle down that should be all that's needed to start with. Don't give up yet, you'll get there. Just need to find a decent outfit/boss.
  18. Sunak 'a typical bloody ungrateful immigrant', says Braverman | The Daily Mash WWW.THEDAILYMASH.CO.UK RISHI Sunak’s weak leadership is absolutely bloody typical of migrants who come over here and think they can run the bloody...

  20. Very good point, I forgot those horrible little buggers. They must do as much if not more damage to woodland as deer. There really ought to be some kind of nationwide program to cull both animals and then use the meat. It would kill multiple birds with one stone. Tasty, healthy, humane, low carbon footprint etc etc.

Joe Rogan admits schools don’t have litter boxes for kids who ‘identify’ as furries | Joe Rogan | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Podcast host had amplified debunked claim about furries spread by Republican politicians
  23. Crazy, messed up, world we live in now ......... Cat litter for pupils rumour denied by school in letter WWW.BBC.CO.UK The often-repeated social media rumour made across the world claims pupils identify as cats.
  24. In the case of Dormice at least, all three are factors; lack of woodland management, too many deer and climate change. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/nov/10/hazel-dormice-becoming-endangered-in-uk-amid-70-percent-decline-study-says
